This is an oldie some of you may recall, we've discussed it a time or two but I was contacted by Gene Riemenshneider, one of the three principal authors of the old Hidden Kingdom game by New Rules and it appears they have given it another go through Fun Quest Games. There is some updated material and improvements were made to the original map. Apparently there are plans for a final and definitive 3rd edition yet to come. Gene answered my questions about the old game (and the new) and I found it interesting. I've posted all info and links as well as Gene's thoughts on game design at my blog if anyone is interested. That was Utterly. Fascinating. Thanks so much for writing and posting that interview!
I still treasure my slip-cased copy of HK...

Thanks kesher. I regret including mine in a sale of my collection. Sigh. I was also interested in Gene's tale and he confirmed to me that the game had a very definite intent beyond a game, kind of its own self-contained zeitgeist of a sort. Glad you enjoyed it.
