This seems a great place to me to have a dungeon crawl adventure, the ruins of the Witch King's capital Carn Dum. I can only imagine the extensive dungeons and caves beneath it. Since I seem great at arousing controversy, I will attract eveyone's ire by stating another wild theory I have. Carn Dum was built on one of the original Seven Dwarf holdings. It seems like it would have been a likely place for one on the map. Is the name "Carn Dum" Dwarven? I am sure there must be a lot of certified or diploma holding Tolkien scholars out there to tell me. I have all the MERP stuff and I know they did a whole supplement of Angmar but besides some of the art work it just turns me off. I would have more fun attempting creating my own ruins of Carn Dum and the dungeons underneath.

Ruins of the North for The One Ring Roleplaying Game includes an adventure that takes place partly in Carn Dûm. The etymology of Carn Dûm is uncertain. If it's Khuzdul (dwarf-language) it's unusual because Tolkien used k instead of c in Khuzdul.

Wow a bit expensive

Durin woke alone in Mount Gundabad; two in the Blue Mountains in the West; and the other four in pairs in the Red Mountains in the East. Certainly not in Carn Dûm. However, it could have been a dwarf-hold at one time. It’s never a stretch to imagine an orc-hold originated as something else, after all.

Gah, I just read this somewhere not two or three days ago......KWF's atlas? Foster's Complete Guide? The original Angmar book for MERP? ...Carn Dum is elvish and dwarvish.
Edit-Yup. "Angmar-Land of the Witch King" page 18.
