Has anybody read the Witwer book already? - No offense, but it didn't seem an all too scientific effort to me, from the few bits that were shared online. Like, I'd love to hear about the C&C society, Don Kaye, and the Blumes. But another opinion piece on why Mr Gygax invented EVERYTHING (that was not invented by Greg Stafford, that is ) is probably nothing I want to spend my time on. If it's any good, though, I'll be happy to spend my Christmas vacation on tales of high adventure.

I read "Level 1" (the first section about Gary's childhood) while I was on vacation. I've not had occasion to pick it up again, but hope to soon.
It's a quick read so far. It's entertaining, but it's definitely a biography of Gary and not a history of the game itself.
