Strange, but some setting has changed or Proboards has updated some software or something like that. When I see threads I see some avatars (such as Geoffrey's) as very large and actually overlapping with the text. When someone quotes another poster these avatars get reproduced with the quote. Is this new? Anyone else notice this? As board Admin, you'd think I'd know more than anyone else.

I can't see what you're describing; it looks the same on my end.

Hmm. I can see the avatars within quotes, but no issues with them interfering with the text anyplace. No idea why though.

Well, some of the avatars ARE kind of large, but I'm not sure if it was any different before, and they're not overlapping any text for me. I'm quoting you to see if the avatar gets reproduced. EDIT: Yes, it does.

Interesting. At work it looks fine for me, too.

No problems for me viewing the site on an Android tablet via the Dolphin browser. Avatars look fine; they also appear in the quotes, but they aren't overlapping or interfering with anything else on the screen.

No quotes for avatars for me; phone nor laptop.

Now viewing from home, looks fine again. Very strange.
It was a surreal experience, actually, seeing those icons all huge and all. Some actually were large enough as to have text from the post going across it, so some posts were hard to read.
I'm glad that it was a one-shot thing and not some "improvement" to proboards. Seems like I dislike every improvement they make.

Seems like I dislike every improvement they make. I worked at my public library from 1991 to 2007. When I started, we had a comprehensible, accurate, super-fast computer system. Then the improvements started, and it was all downhill from there.

Back in my day we had card catalogues, and we had to flip through all those little cards -- by hand and for hours -- to find anything! *hobbles off with a walker*

Was that in Arkham, by any chance? The problem with the computers was likely that they were designed with non-Euclidean geometry by Cthul-Tek Industries, a subsidiary of Microsoft.
