I am interested to see what this sells for S&W white box in mint www.ebay.com/itm/331483656210(not my auction just curious) What else has risen in value, or is somewhat 'collectible' from what is termed 'OSR' ?

Noble Knight is charging fairly big bucks for the early Lamentations of the Flame Princess modules - The Grinding Gear is currently listed for $85, and a second print of Death Frost Doom at $75. A print of Dragons at Dawn is also going for $75. ( aldarron could be sitting on a gold mine here!) And he's asking $695 for Rob Kuntz's Bottle City from Pied Piper. I really think somebody should talk to the folks running that store, the pricing there is entirely out of whack.

Kind of neat to see how it's valued. I have a couple of extra sets still in shrinkwrap that I grabbed for my kids, thinking that it was really cool to have my name on an RPG. Not gonna fetch the price of a Picaso or anything like that, but at least folks still seem to value them.

Agree with what you are saying about NK, but they serve a useful purpose in my book and I have bought from them on occasion. The market is what it bears or some such saying . I like Wayne's Books (for a stocking type place) and the proprietor seems pretty cool there I think the Green Devil Face zine copies fall into that lot also as you mention above

An auction for the following lot of LotFP items, recently ended on ebay: Grindhouse box w/extra players guide. Vornheim. The Grinding Gear. The People of Pembrooktonshire. No Dignity in Death. Death Frost Doom (not sure which printing, but the original version.) Ending price: $403 + 8.10 shipping. 41 bids. Looks like about 11 individual bidders. For those interested, the same seller is currently auctioning a S&W Whitebox and a Delving Deeper box. Currently at $50.99 and $36.05, respectively with a little over 2 days to go. Not my auctions, by the way.

I just bought the Complete Barrowmaze(hardback)+ pdf for $89($4ship). I really wanted it plus it's the right difficulty for my 13yr old to run for his friends. This is my hobby and I don't mind paying the price. My other friends hobbies(cars/hunting/motorcycles/skiing/ATVs/travelling/gambling/drugs) out-price mine by thousands of dollars per year. $90 bucks for a book is nothing.
My first mega-dungeon I ran was Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth followed by Queen of the Demonweb Pits. Against the Giants and The Temple of Elemental Evil were the most memorable. My old gaming group today would be lucky to finish 10 rooms before a schedule conflict derails the whole campaign.

Keps, my particular issue is that the modules Noble Knight is selling in this range were originally sold for under $20 less than five years ago. Dragons at Dawn was print on demand for $16, and the LotFP stuff had never been nearly as expensive as Barrowmaze. I have nothing against paying for collectables from 40 years ago, but I do chafe at the idea that something put out so recently enters the same category.

Yeah, NobleKnight has lost me as a repeat customer with their outrageously high prices of late. It's more economical to browse Ebay.

I like Noble Knight. They are pretty spot-on in terms of their evaluation of the condition of items, they package them carefully, and ship quickly. I've had great experiences with the company and never a complaint.
I agree that sometimes their prices are high, but if stuff sells at that price they can charge it. If it doesn't sell they'll drop prices. Basic economics. What's their motivation to underprice something, only to have it fly from the shelves and run out?

It's all expensive to me, except for the free stuff!

With Noble Knight you are paying to buy something from a seller you know is reputable. Presumably they price things high based on their availability and people's interest. LotFP prices seem bonkers, but people want that stuff, apparently.

I find this topic to be quite interesting. What has gone up from the cover price in what is loosely defined as OSR, or fairly recent publications that involve pre 3e D&D and related. The market is sort of new and evolving based on desire and basic economics etc.
With the advent and availability of lulu and related it has to be stuff published by smaller or self publishers at a limited quantity and is now out of print. Self publishers, micro publishers, or small press publishers such as Brave Halfling, Black Blade, Pied Piper, Lotfp, etc.

LotFP has, possibly by design, embraced a certain obscure/collectable aesthetic that is shared with extreme metal in the late 90s - much of that stuff is difficult to get: old albums/demos go for ridiculous amounts, with the fans seeming to crave having the rarest and smallest releases. The lack of PDFs for some of the older material and 'special release' modules for KS backers only reinforces that. They also don't exactly rush out new products to replace the prior ones when the print runs out - the GM's book for the new edition is definitely a good example (some say 2016, the initial KS date was half-jokingly slated for 2019). I'm a fan of the system - it is one of, if not my favorite OSR system (DCC is a close contender). I've tried bidding on the 'Grindhouse' edition to get a copy of the original GM book - but those sets go up quickly in price. Whereas I am a bit frustrated trying to collect LotFP materials outside of PDF, I understand the business model that Raggi is using. A one person company shipping from a Finnish apartment cannot produce as much as say Goodman Games. The style and setting are not for everyone either - which is another aesthetic that is shared with Black and Death Metal. It's rarity seems to play well with its controversy - which I believe is ridiculous, as I have watched horror movies, comics and novels for years. Am I going to pay $150 for a Grindhouse box, no. Have I bought from Noble Knight, yes - I am wearing a LotFP shirt at the moment that was reasonable from them (23 with shipping), and sold out on the LotFP webstore. Oh, I should say this - Hello, everyone - I've been off the board for awhile, but I'm back from real life. I'll post more elsewhere... you were warned Gynsburghe

I was at Half-Price books in Rocky River-ish Cleve., and they had Bill Barsh's pacesetter adventures for twice the cover price??? Including $18 for that little 8-pager.
