My biggest comment is the "any alignment cleric can turn undead" and "chaotic clerics do not cast reverse spells."
Whoever thought that up should be kicked in the nadgers so hard their eardrums explode. D&D is a game about choices, and they've removed one of the most serious consequences of cleric alignment; Chatotic clerics CANNOT cast heal spells or turn undead, PERIOD. And Lawful clerics cannot cast "Cause Wound" spells, period.
This removes a major element of choice from the game. A difference that makes no difference is no difference.

My Chatotic clerics CANNOT cast heal spells or turn undead, PERIOD. And Lawful clerics cannot cast "Cause Wound" spells, period. Hey, Michael -- a question while I have you on the line here... In my early print White Box rules it says that clerics must choose law or chaos, and later printings (5th print, I believe) say that clerics must make this choice at 7th level. My qustion: how did you see it played it back in the day? (I always made my clerics choose alignment at first level for much the same reason you stated in your post. It's all about choice and I think clerics ought to pick healing or reversed on day one....)

I take it to mean that NEUTRAL clerics must choose between Law and Chaos before 7th level; they can't keep waffling their allegiance.

Why not? What's wrong with a cleric of Neutrality and his spells of Leave Light Wounds Alone, Twilight 15' Radius, Stale But Edible Food and Water, Protection from Neither Evil nor Good, Cure/Cause Mildly Inconvenient Cold and Leave Evil As It Is?

Apologies to aldarron -- I ought not to have derailed his thread.

Apologies to aldarron -- I ought not to have derailed his thread. Nah, that's just how conversations work. I have to say that I do agree 1000% with Michael.
