When I read Lord of Light I thought how great it would be to use it for the basis of an EPT game. The common people would not know the difference. It is even possible to run a game where the players are the "Gods". Has anyone tried this? How did it work out? Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_of_Light=

That's what the "Great Secret" of Tekumel was in Phil's game.
Unfortunately, we all figured it out in about the first week, and nobody was all that interested in actually "doing it" in game.

I've never read Lord of Light, but I'm curious about Tekumel's "Great Secret". Please go into a bit more detail.

Lord of Light, and the lesser Creatures of Light and Darkness, Jack of Shadows, and Isle of the Dead are mandatory reading IMO. They all explore various myth-making/man-as-God scenarios
