Our heroes are wounded and weary from their failed campaign against the Hobgoblin Chief in the Caves of Chaos. They have returned to Arkham to rest, recuperate, and gather reinforcements. This is your opportunity to get in on a classic dungeon crawl Lovecraftian horror style campaign using the Delving Deeper ruleset. The active party currently consists of four 3rd-level PCs: two thieves (a mysterious and slightly insane man and a young boy) and two fighters (one of them a Dwarf and the other an Amazonian). They are in desperate need of backup! Clerics or magic-users would be particularly welcome.
What we are doing is dungeon-crawling our way through some classic D&D modules that I have torn apart, thrown in a blender with Cthulhu mythos, and mashed up William S. Burroughs style to create a nightmare sandbox campaign using the New England town of Arkham as the home base. Recent episodes have been loosely based on the classic module B2: Keep on the Borderlands (but that is subject to change based on player or DM whim).

Our only significant house rule or "rule zero" is, if you choose to play a Chaotic character, please don't look on it as a backstabby player vs player opportunity. Rather, a Chaotic PC in this campaign context would be one who is cooperative with the party, finding a balance that is consistent with the PC's personal agenda of learning more about the Mythos and gaining favor with the Great Old Ones. A Lawful PC is screaming in terror as he is being annihilated by Azathoth; a Chaotic PC is yawping with ecstasy! If a player crosses the "line in the sand" then their PC might go insane or become a villain NPC, and it is all great fun! But overall, the game runs best when everyone works together to kill the monsters and grab their loot, Gygax style.
