My perfect bound copy also had the "printed to the very edge" problem. It's more usable than the staple bound version, but it's still frustrating that they can't get it right.

LULU: FIRE THIS PRINTER! If anyone receives confirmation that this issue has been solved, please let us all know. I want to order at least two copies of FO#14 but I am too broke and overworked at the moment to deal with this weird ritual of repeatedly photographing deformed magazines. Maybe I'll just eventually give up and blow an ink cartridge to print out the PDF.

Well, I have reviewed the PDF thoroughly now, and it's the same as the last few issues have been. *sigh*
The deal is, lulu used to have no problem with 1/4 inch outer margins, and now they do.
Going forward we will just switch to 1/2 inch outer margins. Revising an entire issue is very difficult and probably not an option.
I do want to emphasize that MOST orders have not had these printing problems. But, I'm not sure what I can do about the ones that remain.
Very sorry about this.

I thought of a fix for this finally. It is going to be some work, but I will re-cut the issue and hopefully that will help out. Will get that out next week.
Lulu has said that the problem was because they changed printers, and going forward I hope people will report to me if there are similar problems in some of the old issues. I think the fix I have thought of will work for all of them, but we will see.
They were changing printers right when #14 got released, and many of the copies have been just fine. I do know how to make sure this never happens again with future issues of the mag at least (well, until lulu changes printers again, at any rate).

Thank you very much for your hard work in trying to fix this. I don't think much of this new printer. This is the first time I've ever had a problem of any kind with Lulu.

I think the problem is finally fixed. :-)
Also, lulu has made it significantly cheaper to print, which means that the new version is only $6.99! So maybe there is an upside in this in the end after all. Tell your friends!
Best,
Cal
