Cavern Maps?

Hackman has produced a really great rough draft of level 1, and I've been doing some work on level 2, made easy by Sham's contributions for level 3. But, there are those who can draw good maps of caves, and those who can't, myself very much in the latter group.

Question: does anyone either (a) know where there are good gamable cave maps available or (b) want to draw some for us?

I have a couple projects demanding my time. If you like the outlinish beginnings of the map for level 3, (at my blog, or I can email the scan) I think I could email you some basic stuff to work with. If I can get some idea of what you'd like, I could probably provide a map. Maybe a very basic circles and lines sketch with a few notes, including how many rooms, major features, etc would allow me to get a grasp on what's needed and hammer something out? If you like the outline, I could then proceed to detail it, and leave the process of numbering the areas up to you?

I'm willing to lend a hand because I really want to see the end results of this group project!

Wow, that's a cool line map. I would like you to produce a level 1 map but I don't want to step on hackman's toes because he did a good job (and maybe he'd like to send you his to use as a base). I'm thinking about 25-30 rooms for the level, maybe 2/3 cavelike. But anyway let's see what the hackster is thinking about all this.

I saw Sham's map on his blog and it was great. In fact Calithena, I was thinking about telling you that I'd be willing to draw a new map and or if you wanted to do another, just use my room numbers on a new map. My initial draft was just that meant to look crude, I felt that you might want to go with something else so no toes stepped on here.

I thought you were looking for a map of level 2? I'd be willing to redraw Hackman's map if that's what's needed. I'd be excited about doing both 1 + 2.

If I were to redraw Hackman's, I'd stay as close as humanly possible to the original map. I'm not some mapping expert, but if both Cal and Hack ask for it I'll see what I can come up with.

btw, Hackman and I PM'd a bit back and forth since our levels connect, and I love what I've seen of his stuff so far! Not only can't I wait to see it in FO!, but I'd be honored to help with that map.

Touch up Hack's map, sure. Draw Level 2 map, sure. Finish my own level, yeppers. This will keep me quite busy! Oh, and in case you didn't realize already, I love drawing maps. ;D

Hackman's level is near-perfect in terms of content and structure but I need it to be bigger than he wrote it, maybe double the number of rooms. Your level 3 map is structurally a good model for level 1 as well. I need some emails so I can send things around from person to person...sham, I think I have yours, but can you ping Ig at [e-mail] so I can send hackman's map to you as a template and discuss the changes we need?
