Wow! Let me look into that. You upload the cover separately but I'm surprised Lulu doesn't take care of that.

Very interesting. I did not know this, but Lulu does not give the cover with its PDF downloads.

My knee-jerk response is to upload a separate file with the right cover, but I have another thought....in the meantime, anyone who bought the mag by PDF and wants a cover email me.

Thanks. Four copies of the bunk PDF were purchased; I've now created a separate e-book which people can buy with a cover (I hope). If the other three people who bought the PDF come forward, I can give them a similar deal.

Question about the cover: is page 1 of the coverless PDF supposed to be the inside of the front cover, or is it a facing page? Every once in a while I run into a PDF that needs trickery to be printed properly on a duplexing printer, just curious about this one.

Reading the article In the Time of the Broken Kingdom gives me an idea. How about an innkeeper who discovers a secret door in one of his cellars. The door leads to a tunnel, through a mirrored archway, to another secret door that opens into an almost identical cellar . . . The archway connects the inn with a "mirror image" inn, identical to the original in most ways, different in others, that is in another game world. This way, the inn could become a portal between two different game worlds. The portal could be well known, or the innkeeper could keep it a secret and only tell people he trusts.

Also, that article makes me feel I should post a link to nearbygamers.com/, which is a site to help people find nearby gamers (rpgs, boardgames, ccgs or whatever).

The "inn between the worlds" idea is a fun one. Also windswept plateaus with ancient menhirs work pretty well for popping people around. Gates in the style of Cherryh's Morgaine books are also fun.

Sending e-mail for the cover, I bought the pdf a little while ago and the first page is the pic of EGG. If you uploaded a new file it doesn't seem to have taken yet.

Argh, there was another screw up with lulu. Unbelievably, if you upload an e-book with a cover, they still don't include the cover with the download.

Now that's 10 PDFs I have to track down. First I need to go fix the lulu file once and for all though...

Sorry to all who received the messed up file. Good thing we're getting this sorted out before issue 2 takes the gaming world by storm though.

I hope no one is being too hard on calithena about this. It really is not calithena's fault, it is just a glitch with lulu that needs to be worked out and this is after all the 1st issue. Personally I will be happy if by the 3rd or 4th issue the majority of the bugs are worked out. Kudo's to calithena and all for a great job. I am still reading through the hard copy which I just received and hope to have some comments up in a few days.
