Greetings fellas -
I was wondering why there isn't a board just for Isle of the Unknown. I think It's popular enough (Is there anyone running a campaign on the isle now?) and there are scattered threads on this Carcosa board.
I have been using it and customizing the hell out of it. In the beginning i kind of found it useless but somewhat inspiring until i realized what Geoffrey was aiming for. Then the whole setting dawned on me like Satori. Now its one of my favorite books for inspiration, amazingly along with my print out copy of "First Fantasy campaign".
UPDATE: I have been enlightened about why IotU did not have its own board. So, I have updated the title of this thread.

No one yet, eh? My favorite hex right now is 1806 a.k.a. "The City Of Singing Flame" There's been much talk/threads here about Carcosa and for good reason (obviously being the board for Carcosa). I'm hoping to see the same efforts for Isle of the Unknown. I think the silent brilliance of the setting comes from what is NOT added. To me, it instructs to get out their creative caps and build instead of expecting a full thought out setting to memorize and/or dissect, much like building from FFC or Wilderlands possibly. I'm editing the player's map with my own roads, names...etc on computer to soon introduce some Pathfinder/Tolkienesque players to old school gaming and good ol' hex crawling via S&W WhiteBox and IotU. I'm also planning limit players to Fighter/Sorcerer human PCs much like Carcosa but without the skin differentiation. My players and I were all introduced to RPGs through 2nd Edition AD&D.

I think Carcosa has a sub board because it was originally explicitly an OD&D supplement. With Isle of the Uninown that's not quite the case.

I ran a successful Isle of the Unknown campaign and we spent most of the time in the southwestern portion of the island, where I placed "Pembrooktonshire" Have you tried running the Dungeon of the Unknown yet?

Nope i have not but i do own the PDF. I was thinking of using the "Dungeon of the Unknown" as a template for adding various dungeons that possibly connect. You mentioned that you plopped "Pembrooktonshire" in the west. What time period are you using on the isle in your campaign?
