They were elves and such, invading a fantasy Egypt setup with Wargods of Aegyptus minis defending a Sphinx that could tell them how to save the world.
If you think Fireball is bad in OD&D...
The Egyptian wizard conjured a fire elemental which managed to kill the dragon fighting for my daughter's side. Then her superhero killed the elemental. At the end a second vulture wizard and the elf queen battled it out - takes a long time to roll a 10 - but they got through and the Sphinx told them what their next quest would be.
Anyway, I haven't played actual D&D with my daughter yet because she's still enjoying pure imaginative roleplay so much we haven't felt the need for rules. But if she does become a gamer, she'll be able to say she started with Chainmail. :-)

It was fun. Thanks!
I think we decided that some outside force was corrupting the world...they have to get a special elixir from the highest mountain in the world and pour it into a well in the deepest dungeon in the world to close the gate, I think. So that will be the intro to D&D whenever we get around to it.
