This fascinating blog somehow snuck under our radar, but not any longer, as one of the players (who submits session reports to his referee) emailed me to tell me about it: hyperboreanchronicles.blogspot.com/
Cheers, Jeff T.

Hyperborean Chronicles is the blog for my campaign. We played another session last night and I've posted a brief recap. I expect a full session report from Qaan at some point, but making something interesting out of last night's session will be like trying to put lipstick on a pig. I'll probably add some additional campaign background posts this weekend as well. hyperboreanchronicles.blogspot.com/Chris

The blog is something I created for myself, really. I like being able to look back and see what happened in different sessions. I'm glad there are others who find it entertaining.
Qaan's session reports are my favorite part of the blog and I'm grateful to Rob for writing them. It's fun having players who inject so much creativity into the game. It really energizes me as a GM.

Our Hyperborea campaign continues. In recent sessions our heroes have stumbled upon a conspiracy that forced them to flee Khromarium and gotten a taste of local politics on the island of Barzon. At the conclusion of our latest adventure, they got their hands on their own ship. I think I'm going to have my hands full...

It's going to be a new structure for us. Our Khromarium games always begin and end at a home base, so it is easy to play with whichever players are able to attend a particular session. Now I guess unplayed characters will remain on the ship. Doing ship stuff, presumably.
I'm also not willing to run the game as a pure sandbox, so we'll have to come up with a plan for deciding where they will sail in a given session. Right now I'm thinking we'll do some of the between session decision making via e-mail in a 'choose your own adventure' style. I want them to have meaningful choices as to where to go and what to do, but I don't want to make it completely wide open. At least not right now.

Quite a nice blog. I just wish the recaps were a bit more detailed. As the boat is said to be decrepit, the sandbox might just finish fast enough.

I just hit the high points with session recaps. I try to get my players to do session reports, but most aren't interested. The one who is interested writes very detailed reports that take a lot of effort, so he doesn't do it that often.

Understandable. But you can't help readers wanting some more.

As a quick FYI, this blog has been updated again! Great work! Inspiring campaign, full of the sort of flavor that evokes the game's source literature.
