My copies of FO! arrived today, hope to dig into them this evening (or, perhaps tomorrow as I'm on my way to CA for work again this week).

Wow, FO#1 is an excellent issue thus far. I've read or skimmed about 1/2 of the content and was very impressed with the material I've read so far: Melan's and Jame's adventures, the opening and closing editorials, and I've skimmed the swanmay and chaos mages.
The variety in styles of the art and maps is nicely refreshing---no uniform "house style" getting in the way of the raw OD&D goodness oozing from the maps, for example. I was a little bummed to see the two blank pages in the back of the magazine---perhaps fill such in with a treasure map, a cool historical and not in copyright map, etc. in the future, if possible; so far, though, that's my only complaint.

Thanks Gro!
I didn't know those two blank pages were going to be there. They're an artifact of the printing process and don't show up in the PDFs, etc. Next time we're going to strive to make the issue a multiple of 4 pages so that doesn't happen again.
