I am curious if anyone has any recent examples on how they have utilized the Isle of the Unknown's hex map...what i mean is if there is anyone who has added to the map (roads...etc) or detailed specific hexes on the Isle and is willing to share their results here. I'm hoping the Isle of the Unknown may grow as much as Carcosa has.
By the way, as a book of ideas the Isle of the Unknown is AwEsOmE! Thank you Geoffrey McKinney for publishing stuff like this. You have totally b.i.t.c.h slapped my players and myself into thinking the way we have wanted to think and play.

Yes, there are other threads that i have bookmarked now for reference. I was trying to see if anyone had created some more detail of the IotU map like on Hexographer or other software and how they went about building around the material.
Sirravd, can you link me to that IotU thread you created?

I think you are referring to carcosa, not the Isle, tom.
I have been using the Isle for a DCC campaign and it has worked out great. I have detailed some of the hexes, but my party has only really explored a couple hexes thus far.
The details I am including in addition to the hex descriptions in the book are largely what can be found from the thread in this forum and notes I have taken myself.
Another third party supplement and adventure I am integrating into my campaign on the Isle of the Unknown is called "AL:4 The Waystation" by Purple Duck Games. Essentially it describes an ancient underground dwarven railroad of sorts and I am using the statues to mark other waystations on the Isle in addition to their special effects. So as the party explores the tunnels they may pop up at different points on the island based on their travels. Fun stuff!

Very helpful thread...i did not search the boards for IotU stuff so im glad you linked me, thanx. At this point i have been just grabbing things from the IofU book, not playing it as a full setting. If anyone else has had any success playing the Isle as is as a setting please share your XP...that would be great.

I just received Isle of the Unknown yesterday (thank you, spring sale at Noble Knight Games). I'm wondering if anyone is using the module in its implied setting--late medieval Earth, with links to ancient Greece and Rome. I'm kind of visualizing this as similar to the mythical Atlantic islands, like Antillia or Ymana or Satanazes--but possibly closer to Europe, perhaps even in the Bay of Biscay.
Or course, it could exist as an island on the great Sea of Madness just to the south of the main Carcosa map!

In my campaign, the Isle of the Unknown is a fantasy version of early 14th-century Corsica in the Mediterranean. But, of course, you can toss it into any ocean, sea, or large enough lake. ;D
