Just finished downloading and reading. Another great supplement for AS&SH. also, it's open enough that I can see using it for other systems.

Do you know some more generators suitable for swords & sorcery like this? I read about Cities of Hyboria, sound like a good book.

Do you know some more generators suitable for swords & sorcery like this? I read about Cities of Hyboria, sound like a good book. There are a lot of random fantasy adventure generators online. The problem (for me anyway) is that the output of most of them is pretty generic: "The town merchant visits you at the tavern and asks you to kill the orcs who live in the hills." There's nothing wrong with adventures like that, but they aren't exactly dripping with "sword and sorcery" flavor. That's why I made my own. Here are a couple of "generic fantasy" generators that I found: donjon.bin.sh/fantasy/adventure/www.random-generator.com/index.php?title=Fantasy_Adventure_GeneratorIt's kind of fun just to refresh the page and see what comes up.

Thanks guys! Glad you liked it. Blackadder, I wanted to let you know that your "Random Generator" was infinitely useful in our last session. The characters had themselves surrounded by peeved Mordezzanites and had to either fight, escape, or talk their way out. They did a wonderful job of the latter but realized that the temple would send agents to follow the characters. They decided to find "a job" that would take them into the wilderness thus making the following a bit harder! The very speedy resolution to this part of the adventure left lots of making up to do! I took the adventure generator out and let the players know they would decide the job they found. Everyone rolled but the results were kept secret.... The framework created was wonderful. 5 minutes later they were on their way to Phobos to recover a relic known as the Sword of the Moon via sea voyage to a secret gate in the middle of the Hyperborean Sea. No way the Modezzanites would follow....unless the new crew members weren't who they said they were. Everyone had a blast! Thanks! Morgan

Glad you got some use out of it! So much of the discussion on the internet is theory, so it's always great to see something used in actual play. That adventure sounds like a blast too.

Blackadder, I just wanted to let you know that the Random Generator created adventure "The Sword in the Moon" has run 4 sessions thus far and will likely finish up the next time we play! We have had a great time with this off the cuff adventure. With the reality of busy lives and less continuity in who shows up on a Friday evening we will be using the generator quite a bit to create ideas for one shots that can be finished in an evening. Just thought you ought to know! Morgan

Ben "blackadder23" Ball is a gem of a man with a fertile imagination fueled by classic sword & sorcery literature and a lifetime of gaming. He has a full adventure for AS&SH that should see publication in 2014. It's called Beneath the Comet, and it blew me away on first read. I'm proud to be working with Ben. No publication date set, but if you enjoy his work here (short stories, campaign journals, AS&SH resources, etc.), please consider supporting his future works!

Thanks guys! (No one ever called me a gem before. I think I'm probably one of the "New Age rummage sale" stones off the Ornamental table, but a win is a win.)
