The barge lands without incident on the soft sandy streambed. The water looks fresh and delicious. The inland forest drips with green slime.

Shade communicates to all within range, **Do not go under the trees. They appear to be dripping with green slime...**
Are there any clear paths visible that would cross the island? Or do we have to circumnavigate it to get to the other side without walking under a green slime forest?

Shade thinks that, if he crouched down, he could follow the path of the stream bed into the interior without getting slimed. Definitely not a bronto- or gigantosaurus, though.

**Unless we want to send a small party to explore the island, we'll do better to circumnavigate the whole thing. Maybe even just walking around the beach to the other side.**

Bypassing this island entirely is certainly an option, but impossible to accomplish before sundown. It would probably take an entire day to ferry all the dinos across to the Island of the Big Stone Head, since you only have the one barge.

An [yellow]Yellow Ankylosaurus[/yellow] Yellow Ankylosaurus catches wind of the musky Big Al the Allosaurus and moves to defend his watering hole! He plants his feet in the sandy stream bed and sizes up the newcomers on the barge.

A quick walk around the island, sticking to the beach, should bring the party to an un-forested part of the island, Apothecaria reasons. She suggests that.

Two emaciated jale men and a bipedal ant reach the mouth of the stream, waving and yelling at the barge.

Apothecaria remembers on the barge ride over seeing that the western half of the island is less forested; more of a sand dune and tall grass landscape. The eastern half is rocky; a few small sandy beaches, or seaweed and pebble beaches like where you saw the whale corpse, but for the most part, great jumbles of seaworn dolm-gray stone; the slime forest towering on bluffs high above.

OOC: Did my wraithmen ever return from scouting?
Loyal Beast of the Unknown Master pulls out his massive sword and stands in a defensive manner in front of Big Al. He shouts angrily in the direction of the Anklyosaurus while pounding his sword against the ground hoping to scare it away.

He shouts angrily in the direction of the Anklyosaurus while pounding his sword against the ground hoping to scare it away. [OOC: Let's ret-con that the wraithlings returned to Loyal Beast and carried him across the water to his current position...] Big Al isn't scared of no Ankylosaurus! He steps around Loyal Beast and growls, his predatory instinct taking hold. The ankylosaurus does not show aggression, but it stands its ground.

OOC: Oi. No portals to jump through here; just some slime to avoid!
Shade ponders their situation for a while... then comes to a decision.
**I do not like seeing the bulk of the party split up so. Let us make camp here, at the outlet of the stream. There is whale carcass for the carnivores. We shall figure out what to feed the herbivores - obviously there is supply, for the armoured tank is alive. Apothecaria, can you return to Guano island to retrieve the rest of the party? In the mean time, I want to briefly explore the stream. Anyone who wants to join me is welcome.**
After watching Apothecaria start the barge back to the other island, Shade commands the rest of his troops to let Andre feed on the whale carcass and form a defensive position. Then he turns and, crouching low, begins making his way up the stream with his Deep One Minion close behind.

Andre was scheduled to cross over on the 2nd barge. Big Al and Grekk are the dinos here.
Shade should have no trouble slithering up the stream bed; who's going with him? And who is going to check out the whale carcass a short walk to the northeast?

Ah, sorry. So did the FBC troops stay with Andre, then?? If so, then never mind. Someone else should see to the whale carcass.
Shade will take his Deep One minion with him (and anyone else who wants to join). If the water is deep enough, they'll stay in it and swim; otherwise, they'll walk up the middle of it.

Apothecaria agrees to ferry the others over. She will bring Grekk with her and leave her troops behind to recon the immediate area and gather any herbs they may find.

Shade has no trouble following the stream, at first. But soon it splits off into a maze of meandering brooks, waterfalls, and rivulets. Slime presses in from all sides, a constant threat.
Will someone attempt a Bushcraft check to lead the way for the group?

What is the price of failure? The Preservation of Humanity has already lost 1 henchman to the slime forest.

Loyal Beast of the Unknown Master waits patiently and follows Big Al's lead in regards to the anklyosaurus.
Afterwards Loyal Beast will start gathering innards of the whale to wrap around himself for future healing needs.

Is anyone else following Loyal Beast and Big Al to the whale carcass site?

Dream Stalker (Henchwoman) will join the party investigating the whale carcass.

Loyal Beast, Big Al, and Dream Stalker walk northeast on the beach to the whale carcass site. These Carcosan whales sure are ugly! This one is gray-skinned covered in orange patterns, like the sunlight reflecting from ripples of a wave. It has 4 eyes and the biggest mouth you've ever seen, as though designed to gulp in a huge amount of sea water.
As the party approaches the carcass, a dolm ooze looks up from its snack!

The dolm ooze decides to stick with the easier meal, and continues munching on the whale carcass.

Loyal Beast will also share and chooses to walk around the other side of the whale . He uses his large sword and starts hacking until he get entrails
I assume nothing came of the encounter with the Yellow Anky and Big Al?

Big Al is under your control and will not attack without your command (unless he gets really, really hungry ).
