Physical contact with the yellow ankylosaurus has a 50% chance of triggering a special effect.

A coin is flipped---tails, you lose!

The ankylosaurus' skin is covered in a dry, cracked, puffy layer. PoH's touch triggers a 1" cloud of asphyxiating spores!

PoH must save vs. poison or die. He needs a 12 and rolls 16, success! He chokes and staggers, and is temporarily thrown for a loop, but he survives and will be forever immune to this particular dino's spore cloud.

PoH says to the henchmen: "Try to lure it away. Maybe if you walk away slowly, it'll follow. 4, keep with me. We'll go back to the river bed. 2, 3, if you can lure it away, come back to the stream and rejoin us. If you can't, it's probably friendly. That's not unheard of, especially when the dinosaur is herbiv...––er––eats plants." I gesture to Wizard-killer to come with me and 4.

The yellow dinosaur's demeanor has changed since releasing its spores. It follows 2 trustingly and makes chuckling noises at 3.

Meanwhiles the boss, his ant, and number 4 return to the sandy streambed, which is a prominent local landmark and good source of fresh drinking water. A barge or raft could land here, for sure. The puddle where the dinosaur took its bath is contaminated with yellow spores; don't drink downstream!

There is some confusion over who is where... by my reckoning, Loyal Beast is still on Guano Island and his wraithlings are with the scouting barge, which should be landing on Slime Forest Island any minute now....

Apothecaria gathers her remaining four followers and begins a reconnoiter of the immediate area. All are armed with their spears.

Apothecaria waits for the barge to make landfall, after which she and her remaining henchmen (and Grekk) will scout out their immediate surroundings.

Loyal Beast of the Unknown Master shouts an order to his minions. "Wraithlings scout the coastline, look for a decent place to put this barge." The wraithlings scream and screech as they coast along the top of the water doing as their master bids them

I'm confused... so we've still never landed the barge?? isn't there some obvious landing site that was visible from the other island? If so, I thought that is where we would have been heading.

The scouting party finds a good place to land the barge at the sandy terminus of a fresh-water stream.

Shade exits the water with his minion near the freshwater stream. They look around and try to get their bearings, as it relates to Guano Island.

Loyal Beast patiently waits for his wraithlings to return from their mission to scout.

Once they are close enough, Shade will examine the coastline to see what kinds of options they have for landing, unloading everyone, and then getting the ferry back to get the others.

Shade determines the two most logical spots to land would be 1) a rocky beach directly across from Guano Rock, where there is an abandoned life raft and a large whale carcass, or 2) a sandy stream bed a bit to the southwest (clockwise around the island).
