Hello folks, After a bit of tinkering and toying with the Random Dungeon Generation tables of AD&D's DMG, I've designed a solo random dungeon generator campaign set in a slightly exotic and shady setting. The result's called Ruins of the Undercity and is now released at Indie Press Revolution and Drivethrurpg in PDF format and at Lulu in Print-On-Demand. It's basically a huge random table with a background and rules for solo campaign play with any old school game system. I've set a page up where you can find more illos and info. KABUKI KAISER/RUINS OF THE UNDERCITYEnjoy the stuff!

Added to my RPGNow Wishlist, which means it's on my short list of things to buy. From the preview pdf it looks great.

Thanks, Grognard! I thought it would convey much of Cryptopolis' atmosphere, you know the haggling at the end of the delves, and the pickpockets and all. There are no reviews yet, Cameron, because it's been out for just a couple of days, but I expect a few to come up soon enough. Who knows, one of them could be yours . Thanks for the interest guys!

This just arrived today in my postal box from lulu. I'll look it over and post some feedback. I like the premise of it, sounds sort of like a fighting fantasy or choose your own adventure book , but with an actual character sheet and random tables etc.

Kabuki, thats nice. My family is in Moore and lives just blocks from the twister's path. Im here now and the damage is literally mindboggling--I get lost biking in what were once familiar streets. Im thankful the gaming community did something. God bless.

Good news that your family and yourself are fine. Gamers are the best people, you know that . Anyway, thank you for your support, the charity bundle's doing well and still has 3 days to go (till June 3rd), so let´s keep our fingers crossed!

Campaign rules and solo play sound very interesting and I would like to play something like this, but people in reviews say that the dungeon generation is so slow that the game is almost unplayable. It would be good if someone made streamlined version. edit: I came up with some ideas: 1. Use Stonehell megadungeon. It would make for a fast play with high quality dungeon, but there wouldn't be any surprise, because I would know the whole dungeon already. Also this dungeon may require to be modified for Undercity flavor. 2. Use this random dungeon generator, then add furniture and flavor from Undercity book. Some monsters could be replaced. www.dizzydragon.net/adventuregenerator/genAnother thing is it would be great to have some modification of the base D&D game that allows to have one character that is powerful enough to make up for full party. (For the obvious reason it would make game run faster and smoother.) Such character would be a kind of rogue that can do everything like thief, fighter and partially wizard class (staves, wand, scrolls and potions instead of regular spellbooks), and for lack of cleric there would be some system of healing by potions or partial recovery after each battle. And of course better recovery rate when resting or sleeping. Sort of like in Nethack.
