I had the pleasure of meeting Gary in person several times. I think this picture is from the last time I met him, at Gen Con `07 when we were at the TLG booth promoting the release of Castle Zagyg: The East Mark Gazetteer. This picture was during dinner at a local restaurant in downtown Indy. He was such a pleasure to be around . . . Anyone else want to post their own "Gary and me" picture?

That's a nice picture, Jeff. I'll have to dig some out and possibly scan, so later on that (after the 1st). EDIT/ I cannot figure out how to upload one I found. Any pointers would be a help to this "old man". Thanks.

Once the photos are uploaded, each photo is given a bunch of links that you can use. For message boards like this, I copy the IMG Code and insert it into my post.

I nuked the FB account when they made it into track everything that you're doing nonsense.
Oh well. Perhaps Grodog can post one, like from the interview at Hill Cantons, for instance?
Thanks in advance!
Having fun in NJ?
Rob

Yeah. Gary playing Stalingrad; and John Bobek (fore) and Gary playing in John's miniature WWII battle, as the Russians (East Front), with T-34/76's and /85s and I believe I note a KV 1 or 2 on the road. I don't remember the name of the person in the background though I remember his face. All IFW members playing at the Madison, Wisc convention. Approximately one month before GENCON 2 (August 1969) in Lake Geneva. I played H. G. Well's Little Wars at that con with John Bobek on my side (same picture posted at the Hill Cantons interview) and did some Stratego with Ernie Gygax as well. Good times. Lots of hot dogs and soft drinks...

Howdy Rob! Yeah. Well's Little Wars at that con with John Bobek on my side (same picture posted at the Hill Cantons interview) and did some Stratego with Ernie Gygax as well. Good times. Lots of hot dogs and soft drinks... Funny you should mention Little Wars, Rob! I recruited John Bobek to run Little Wars this year at Gary Con for the Legends of Wargaming series. I just picked up a couple of Britains 4.7" naval guns with firing action. John plans to run out his 54mm Bengal Lancers against some fierce Pashtun tribesmen led by the Mad Mullah himself! There will be about 50 infantry and 3 guns per side. You can see the full list of events here: www.garycon.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=990&sid=29dcede0cee82fdb49a1d0be2322641fBTW I thought of you today! I had a bunch of Roco minitanks out and my 4 year old boy, Henry, was carrying around one of the Tigers. Made me think of the Professor's comment regarding you some 40 years ago. ;D Futures Bright, Paul

This is a great thread. I don't have any pictures to add, but I really like looking at the old school pictures of Gary here. Must have been great knowing him in the day.
