"Let's get over to the small island before nightfall." Breath of New Moon suggests.

If that's the plan, then who is crossing first? The motorbarge is large enough for 1 brontosaurus and its crew, or a few of the smaller dinosaurs.

Perhaps Big Mama first, her shielding could help protect her if attacked alone... unless of course she's attacked in the water on the way there!!
The other option would be to send the smaller dinos to scout it out first, they would be faster to explore the small island, then if we get the all clear, send the barge back for more.
I think I'm leaning more towards the second option. Opinions?

I like the second idea, too.
Shade and his minion can scout, as well, if it involves swimming over.

OOC: I like the second option as well.
Loyal Beast of the Unknown Master commands his wraiths to join the scouting party. The wraiths scream a shrill unearthly howl as they fly off and do as they are told.

Fated also likes the idea of other people scouting. He stands quietly, looking resolute but not budging from the safety of the larger group.

So who's going over on the first barge? (I need a list of people and dinos.) Remember you are down a scout-a-saurus due to the loss of Snarf. Who will attempt to pilot the motorized vessel?
Shade and Deep One can swim; the Wraithlings can skim over the surface of the water.

Apothecaria and Grekk will go in the first barge.

In order to establish a good defensive group on the next island, Shade directs Sgt. Cannibal and Andre the Gigantosaurus to cross over with The Fine Brown Cannibals on the second barge.
Then Shade and the Deep One Minion will cross by water ahead of the first barge to help scout the island and establish a place of camp.

Grekk is tiny, so there's still plenty of room on the first barge. Grand's raptor would fit, and either Big Al or Princess the juvenile heal-o-saurus (but not both). Which of the other PCs and NPCs will join the 1st barge scouting mission? (The ship does not sail until I have a specific passenger list.) Andre is giant (duh!) so he would have to be the only dino on the 2nd barge, along with the cannibal pikemen. I need someone to step forward and say "I am attempting to operate the barge" (for reasons that will become clear). Keep in mind that a PC is necessary for "point of view," so if you leave all your NPCs behind, you don't get to find out what happens to them unless they survive. (Maybe if I feel like it I will say in the out-of-character thread )

Apothecaria will attempt to operate the barge, and will have her red woman sergeant accompany her on the trip.

Apothecaria attempts to operate the guano barge (untrained Tinker has only 1 in 6 chance) and rolls... 1, success! The engine sputters to life on her first pull of the cord.
Passenger list so far:
Apothecaria her Red Lieutenant Grekk Shade (in the water) Deep One (in the water) 3 Wraithlings (skimming the surface)
There's room for more; who else?

All under Shade's control have been accounted for with the first and second trip, so whoever else has underlings to move should chime in. As previously mentioned, at least one PC should stay and leave with the last group. I think Fated to Die is taking that role?

Princess (with her two NPC specialists: Serpent's Scion and Dream Stalker) will go on the first barge. Breath will stay behind with Little Brother.

Updated list for barge 1 scouting mission:
Apothecaria her Red Lieutenant Grekk Shade (in the water) Deep One (in the water) 3 Wraithlings (skimming the surface) Princess Serpent's Scion Dream Stalker
Still room for a few more people, I'll give people until the end of the day to respond, and then move forward with the list as it is.

Apothecaria's lieutenant shakes her head as the motor smokes and sputters into life, "The sun shines on a different dino's a** every day...."

The remainder of Apothecaria's troops will cross in the first available boat that can accommodate all of them. The final trip over is just fine, too.

If there's room Loyal Beast will dismount and send Big Al Across Just barely, that would be the limit. If there are no last minute additions/subtractions to the passenger list, I will begin the adventures of the barge 1 scouting mission within the next 24 hours...

Apothecaria, her Red Lieutenant, Grekk, Shade, Deep One Minion, 3 Wraithlings, Princess, Serpent's Scion, Dream Stalker, and Big Al
The motorized guano barge easily holds your weight and moves at a rapid clip across the bay (piloted by Apothecaria). Your destination comes into view: a medium-sized, forested island with small, rocky beaches.
About halfway across, Princess begins making pathetic mewling sounds. At first you think she is seasick, until you notice she is weeping tears of blood.

Everyone Else
You watch the barge leave Guano Rock to scout the mysterious wooded island in the distance.
Big Daddy starts making grunting noises. He is bleeding from the eyes!

Apothecaria examines Princess. Apothecaria attempts a diagnostic check: 2 (success). The blood flowing from the baby brontosaurus' tear ducts is abnormally thin and copious, as though she has been administered a powerful anti-coagulant. On closer examination Apothecaria sees the area of the tick-crab-parasite puncture wounds is beginning to puff up at an alarming rate.

Dream Stalker also tries to think of any remedies which would help Princess. Would her spores be useful for self-healing?
Serpent's Scion takes over control of the Barge while Apothecaria attends to the dinos.

Breath of New Moon heads over to Big Daddy, and looks him over closely. With Apothecaria and Dream Stalker gone on the barge, she tries to think of anyone left behind who may know anything about Dinos...

Dream Stalker also tries to think of any remedies which would help Princess. Would her spores be useful for self-healing? Serpent's Scion takes over control of the Barge while Apothecaria attends to the dinos. It's worth a try---Princess releases her spores and is healed 1HD (back up to her full 4HD, 6hp). Dream Stalker (4 in 6 healing) rolls 2 and senses that Princess is still suffering from some internal injury or ailment that DS has never encountered before. Because it is not a surface wound, the spores will be of no further help. The little dino continues to howl and bleed from the eyeballs! Now she is coughing up bloody phlegm and dribbling from her bum.

Apothecaria snags a sample of the spores, if possible. " The first step in healing is understanding the situation. Should we not take stock of ours?" She nods meaningfully to the island upon which they've found themselves. She'll do this, naturally, when the island is actually reached!

(still floating on the barge, halfway between the islands. you estimate you're a half hour away from the beach at your present speed.) (she collects a spore sample, which may come in handy for future witchcraft)

Loyal Beast unsheathes his sword as quietly as he can and holds it up in the air ready to strike
"I don't want to do this but if the suffering must end I will do the deed before this disease does it first"
He waits for an indication from a companion before he strikes

On Guano Rock
Loyal Beast readies his massive blade for the mercy strike as Big Daddy's long neck and tail begin to inflate from within like circus balloons! Blood drips from every orifice! The swollen brontosaurus' screams are near-deafening!
How do the other party members and their henchmen react to this situation?

On the Barge
Princess is becoming more and more bloated by the second and is clearly in extreme pain.
How do the various PCs and henchmen react?
