For those who have not heard, The Metamorphica is the most comprehensive mutation list to date! It has over 650 mutations, notes and charts for creating mutants, monsters, superheroes, demons, cthulhuloids and aliens for any genre. For a 155 page book, it packs A LOT of useful stuff!
Its like rolling-up mutations for Gamma World characters, but with a lot more stuff to work with, and with lists akin to the Hordlings from the Monster Manual II. And most of all, it is completely systemless. There are tables for range and duration (usually in terms of "a few", "many" or "several"), but for the most part, you'll have to add your own game effect (for example, it something dose damage, just roll the Random Dice Chart in Carcosa).
This is a must have for a Carcosa session. And yes, it lists the colors from the world of Arcturus in the random color chart.
As a digest-size paperback book, it is not going to set you back too much. Otherwise, the electronic copy is publicly available by the author.
I cant stress enough how indispensable the book is! And not just for Carcosa, but for a lot of other games! (As long as you dont mind doing a bit of homework, to add in the chunky parts to the list — thankfully, a good number of them are just superficial traits with no need for fancy rules.)
