Thaumagorga is evilly aligned. He is the only deity not aligned with chaos, neutrality, or law. What is the difference?

I'd presume that Thaumagorga is a fickle and capricious deity. When/if he appears before any of his worshippers he takes on the alinement that they follow and believe that He supports. Behind his congregations back he act only in his own best interests. Meaning he will follow Law, Chaos, and Neutrality all at once or none at all. Depending on his plans, schemes, and moods.

Behind his congregations back he act only in his own best interests. Meaning he will follow Law, Chaos, and Neutrality all at once or none at all. Depending on his plans, schemes, and moods. I would have thought that a chaotic god would be capricious and a lawful god would be predictable with neutral having aspects of both. An evil god would only have his interests in mind when acting whereas a good god would only have his worshippers interests in mind when acting. Most would fall in among this wide gulf. One way of looking at it may be that the chaos / law continuum explains the "why" of the gods action and the evil / good continuum explains the how of the gods action. Is kthulhu evil? Does he care? I would say that he is capricious in why he acts and cares little for his followers if at all and so cares little for their welfare when using them for his purposes. The how of his actions seem to say he is evil. The why says chaos. If a follower of kthulhu does so out of fear and societal pressure then alignment is irrelevant. But the clergy and cultists of kthulhu would begin to match their gods alignment or would simply not receive power anymore. Given the multitude of reasons for following a god there may be diffences in alignment between follower and god until that follower makes deeper commitments. These are sort of random thoughts as I nail down the cosmology a bit. Morgan

Morgan For me the difference was simply that he is indeed a daemon as the daemons in the bestiary, except that he has grown to such power that he has ascended to godhood. Notwithstanding, he retains in his makeup the moral attribution of Evil, unlike the other deities.
