Just opened the box for the Castle Ravenloft board game and I immediately wondered if the rules could become a "4E lite" type game. Heroes are rated by: - Armor Class
- Hit Points
- Speed
- Surge Value
- and then they get a few Power Cards
Monsters are rated by: - Armor Class
- Hit Points
- Attack
- Damage
- and then they get special abilities and a blurb on "tactics"
There are also some (very, very short) rules for advancing in levels. I'm wondering if one could take this basic structure and put together a RPG-style doccument for general character play. It might be a lot like "microlite", which is quite trimmed down but a lot of folks like to play. Anyone try this already? Would it have enough detail to be fun? Any suggestions? Etc.

Not directly answering your question, but I read through all the reviews on Amazon about this board game - because I love board games - and though most of them were positive, I got enough of a sense of the game to believe that I would find it horribly boring.

I bought it. Wouldn't mind selling it.
It can be fun, but it found it rather... empty.

I bought it. Wouldn't mind selling it. Unfortunate, since I just bought mine today. It can be fun, but it found it rather... empty. Reminds me of HeroQuest, which my kids really enjoyed playing. Of course, they were younger then. Now they might not find it so cool....
