The Darkness Beneath thread made me wonder which adventures from Fight On! people have played through. I know most of us probably modify things quite a bit when we use someone else's material, but I bet it would be nice for authors to hear about their work being enjoyed.
As for me, I've gotten much use out of several settings/adventures:
Pentastadion (Fight On! #5)- this brief write up of a city in Gabor Lux's Fomalhaut sparked a lot of ideas for me, and has morphed into the main urban locale in two campaigns. It had just enough detail to make it intriguing and provide a feel that I could use to fill in the blanks.
House of the Axe (#4)- Cal's killer house has claimed 2 out of 2 parties, with one party not surviving the plantlife out in the garden. Lots of fun and one to which I'll surely return again.
The Wuuky! (#5)- This isn't an adventure or setting, but my bro-in-law had great fun (and totally impressed his two sons) by wreaking havoc as a Wuuky for several adventures.
The Howling Emptiness (#8)- My players loved to hate this desert, wandering around for a long time in extreme paranoia after being robbed by "kind" desert nomads in their sleep. Ramsey Dow makes cool stuff. (why you tease me with Marooned Across Space and Time?!)
Then there are three I'm really itching to play, but haven't had the chance to yet: Spawning Grounds of the Crabmen (David Bowman in #3), Caves of the Beast Mistress (Tavis A. in #9), and Fruiting Towers (Patrick Wetmore in #13).
I know there's been talk of people conducting a Fight On!-only campaign. Anyone else get some play out a particular adventure or setting?

I'm glad you got use out of House of the Axe...so did Jeff Rients, when we met on rpg.net back before these boards or Fight On! even existed! I think it claimed a party in his game too.
Good thread idea!

From #1, I ran The Ruined Monastery with a bunch of newbies in S&W White Box and it killed off three players. They really enjoyed it though. I ran a level 4/5 OD&D party through The Tomb of Ymmu Kursa and they really enjoyed it - they all survived, although two got level drained. I am now runnig a lvl 6 party through Nature's nasty Node in a pBp OD&D game, and it's going okay so far

I've also run The Ruined Monastery from #1, using OD&D. My "main" gaming group (all old friends from the AD&D era) had an absolute blast.

How did Tower of the Birds play out for you and your group? I have it on a list of adventures I might use, but wondered how the tower layout would play.

The Ruined Monastery, The first level of The Darkness Beneath and, most recently, The Fungoid Caverns of the Bone Invoker

It worked out great, but it's one of those adventures that, for your players, if they are trying to map it out, you might want to recommend they simply sketch out a flow chart.

Ah, thanks for the tip. I kinda thought there might be an issue like that. Content looks awesome, though!

I used 'Stone Gullet' by Gabor Lux from FO! 6 this past weekend. Very cool little fleshed out Fort/Outpost

I ran the Isle of Birds, Isle of Arsenoi & Temple of the Sea Demon linked for a party of mixed (1-5) level C&C characters.
(Edit: just remembered the isle of Birds & Isle of Arsenoi are Knockspell series I think, anyway...)
Out looking for lost Atlantis, they found some minimal remnants (Isle of Birds) where a wandering rogue unleashed the silver chained spirit (lost 2 levels down to 3rd in the escape) just as the party druids sacrifices to the partially submerged remnant sea demon shrines (whom I had made Dagon for campaign purposes) reached their crescendo, providing a convenient means of escape - to Arsenoi. They found evidence of the big momma bird but rolled luckily & she never appeared.
At Arsenoi they explored a bit, were caught up in the Salamander Demons plays (used them to provide a bit of background on Atlantis/Arsenois fall to Dagon & clue them in on the secret to reaching the Temple of the Sea Demon). They played around a bit in the ruined tower without finding great weal or woe, then rather bypassed most of Arsenoi in favour of heading out for the Temple of the Sea Demon.
At the temple of the Sea Demon, despite being there to return a magic sword I had earlier planted (intelligent sword wanted to return to lost Atlantis, little did they know Atlantis fell when they began to worship foul Dagon), they decided not to negotiate with the fish priests & instead went the search & slaughter route.
They loved the Temple, figuring out how to loot the water shafts, having fish priests escape down the wells & re-appear for a suprise attack with the elemental in tow leading to a ding dong battle. One almost died drinking a potion of Watery Death & they were intrigued enough to play & tinker with about half the lures, with varying results.
Eventually they died at the hands of the Entity in the final chamber, one escaped the chamber initially but paused to drink a potion & was caught by the Entity.

I've swiped some of Gabor Lux's "set pieces." The Wraith & Book from FO! #1 was a real hoot at the table.

It is good to read people have used, or been inspired by my adventures. Thanks for your comments, all.

Ran a modified version of House of the Axe from FO!#4 last Sunday. Gamed for about 5 hours, 6 PCs + myself as DM using 1e Ad&d ruleset. I modified this adventure a bit to make it more Lovecraftian as opposed to based in Arduin and scaled it down a tad as the party was avg 4-7th level.
Fun times, the party got to the house (ran into the house after a couple rounds against the deadly Maggoth), and explored much of the ground floor and some of the upper apt level. They saw the cave to the west and are itching to check it out but decided to explore the house itself 1st.

Recap from House of the Axe, session #2 which I ran at a gaming store in Seattle this past Sunday (1e ruleset)
Present in the party were 5 PCs and 2 NPCs (Elwita & Phanstern). It's going to take me a little while to figure out exp/gp rewards as their was a lot going on, and alot of 'stuff' you accumulated as you looted the legendary manse of Pthalk the magician. But I will hope to post that soon. You encountered and killed 8 Vroats (a primitive hybrid of a giant frog & crocodile), 1 Air Elemental, and 3 Yellow Perils (20' long centipedes with a posion bite). The party explored the rest of the upper 'apartment level' which took a few trips as some of the doors were magically trapped and magically held. You looted a library, the master bedroom, a laboratory, an inter-stellar observatory, and a trophy room. You tried out some various trinkets & magical items in the trophy room to varied effect. You also finished exploring & mapping the ground floor (gaining entrance to the Vault finally), eventually finding a stairwell down to the 'basement level'. You also were confronted a bit more directly this time by the ghost of Loden Grimlock, who cast his 'dread gaze' upon Elwita and aged her 10 years You think you've found an alernate entrance to the outside cave perhaps, but have at this point come across 5 ghostly white pony sized dogs controlled by a freakish medusa looking creature carrying a wicked looking whip. We'll pick it up there the next time.

I am running session 4 (perhaps final session to finish this) 'House of the Axe' tomorrow at the FLGS in Seattle. 1e Ad&d with a 5-6 man party avging level 7. I have this set in the central Alamedo jungle (Greyhawk) and the northern fort in the jungle/outpost is a modified version of 'Stone Gullet' also from a FO! zine that has been used as sort of a home base while exploring different sections of the jungle (Elephant's graveyard from Dungeon Magazine etc)
