Howdy, a quick search of Drivethrurpg and google, failed to turn up a pdf of First Fantasy Campaign. Does anyone know if one is available anywhere? I'm interested in reading it but not $70 (amazon prices for used copies) interested.

Ah, thank you. I looked at that thread, but somehow missed the relevant posts in it.
Well then, let me add my voice to the chorus asking for PDF release.

Strangely enough, in reading threads here and on DF, I've seen 2 people mention that they have pdfs of FFC.

We're working on it. :-) Dave Arneson "Dark Lord of Gaming" Awesome. Pdf is probably the only way I'd get to see this for a long time (for financial reasons).

In the same boat as Random. Would love to see this come out on PDF so hope it is still in the works.

Dave Arneson "Dark Lord of Game Design" That's awesome, Dave! I have a nice FFC copy now, but I've never seen the Dungeon Master's Index. If you put out the call I'd bet you'd have either a loaned clean FFC (maybe in exchange for a signature inside?), or even a file of scans to use for this undertaking. I've no doubt you'll sell a fair share of these PDFs once you have the scans.

I finally tracked down what was up with First Fantasy Campaign on Judges Guild's end:
Per Bob Bledsaw II, before his death his father returned the rights Judges Guild held in First Fantasy Campaign back to Dave Arneson. Dave was working on developing a new, revised edition of First Fantasy Campaign using materials sent to him from the Bledsaws; this apparently was in addition to work on the new 4th Edition Blackmoor. Bob is not sure where things stood with the Revised FFC project at the time of Dave's passing.
"Dave sent me a very nice signed copy of the original FFC for my collection," Bob said." In it he wrote, 'The greatest treasure may not be the best guarded.' It means even more to me now."
So any future FFC PDF would be in the hands of Dave's family now.

Thanks for doing some legwork on this one James.
I did some scattershot emails to some peeps at WotC, but purely from an outsider perspective. I have a couple of ins that I plan to lean on for the right person to contact about this in the next week or so as time permits.
I personally can't think of a greater tribute than some sort of re-release of Dave's earlier, important works out there for a new generation of gamers to explore.
