In my current Age of Conan game, the PCs are about to find themselves trapped in an Aesir ringfort under siege by an army of zombies. I plan to run it using Chainmail.
Any Chainmail vets out there got any tips or pieces of advice to throw my way?

I ran my first CHAINMAIL battle as referee when I was 16. It's easy.
The point value chart works. Trust it.
It's not a role playing game, it's a miniatures wargame. Treat it as such. You don't win by killing an enemy army, you win by inflicting enough casualties that it breaks and runs.

Well, in this case the enemy army are mindless zombies who aren't likely to break and run until exterminated. The scenario is very much a Night of the Living Dead one--survive and hold your ground till the enemy is otherwise destroyed.
That being said, the adventure scenario I'm using has some interesting bare-bones battle rules in it that I may incorporate, such as rules for what happens on a losing round (in this case, perhaps a losing morale check).
