Hello everybody!
I was wondering if any of you are planning to run the new Carcosa using the Men & Magic booklet and Chainmail to resolve combat.
If so, how would you guys resolve combats that involve creatures with lots of hit dice such as Cthulhu & his friends?
Thank you for your help!

I've been doing exactly that since last April in my play-by post campaign (join us! we're recruiting new players!): odd74.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=muchgnomeThe party hasn't encountered Cthulhu yet, but I always imagined he would fight as a Balrog on the fantasy combat table.

Thank you for the response and the invite mushgnome! I've never participated in a play-by-post game, so I'll read up on your adventures to see if it's something I be an asset to. :-) I think I'd leave Mass Combat as is (hits detract # of hd), and I'd incorporate Carcosa's Dice Conventions to Man to Man and Fantasy Combat resolution subsystems. How are you incorporating the Dice Conventions?

We are playing it exactly as you say: 1HD mass/troop combatants do not roll for individual hit points; Carcosa dice conventions are used for man-to-man and fantasy combat.
