The bone man says: "Those green women hired me for the day. You'll have to ask them the point of this job; I'm just the pilot. I haven't hurt you or done anything wrong; so if you let me up, I promise to behave."
The deep one says: "GLOP!" [does anyone speak Deep One? remember you get 1 bonus language per point of intelligence over 10.]

[does anyone speak Deep One? remember you get 1 bonus language per point of intelligence over 10.] Why yes, The Shade of the Evermore understands Deepwaneese. "Know thine enemy (and provider of ritual components)", as The Shade's grandpappy used to say. OOC: Don't know if it matters or not, Mush, but I thought it more powerful to take the hand I needed while the creature lived vs. after it was dead.

The deep one burps and gurgles the words: The house was supposed to be empty.
Yes, the hand will be more potent with the fresh life-force, agreed.

Fated: "Now we're getting somewhere. What vessel did you pilot, how much did they pay you, and where is that money? Although a Bone Man in plate mail is an unlikely pilot..."
[to Shade] "Ask it where do the women flee to?"

Fated gets in close to the remaining Deep One, holding the sword ready should the foam give way.

If Minion is unable to get within arc welder range of the green women by the time he has gone 30 feet into the tunnel, he will reluctantly come back to the cellar.

Breath follows Minion down the tunnel. She'll turn back if /when he does, however.
((OOC: I think Minion is in Plate armour? In which case the Green Women will outdistance the two of us))

Breath and Minion give up the chase when they realize they cannot catch the green women (who are wearing lighter armor and also familiar with the tunnel). They notice several dropped items on the tunnel floor, including circuitry, motors, valves, and copper wiring.
Fated questions the bone man, who replies: "I am a riverboat pilot. The women told me they were graduate students and hired me (for a fair price) for a survey of beaver dams on Hangman's Brook. But when we got here, I found these fish-guys lurking in the water. I don't like surprises, but a job's a job, and I agreed to help, so long as no one got hurt. You won't hurt me, will you?"
Shade interrogates the deep one, who sputters: "The raft, beaver pond."

The Shade turns to the bone man and stands over him, showing his face with all three eyes, and communicates (such that all can understand him, as well):
**Speak quickly, pilot. Can the Green Women operate the boat without you?**

I just wanted to know if the green women would be stranded at the other end of the tunnel without you. You are not only gullible, but stupid, as well, as you made yourself expendable by teaching them your only job on the mission.** The Shade starts to turn back to the one remaining Deep One, hand on his dagger, but pauses... **What kind of boat pilot wears heavy armour? All water craft pilots I've ever known feared drowning above all else. They never wear heavy armour.**He turns back to the bone man, but continues drawing the dagger out of its sheath...

Minion asks Breath "should we leave these things on the ground, to serve as a trail, or pick them up, do you think?"
Either way, he then heads back to the cellar of interrogation, either with the items or without, depending on Breath's answer.

"Without this armor, I'm a dead man," is the bone man's reasonable reply. (He's right, too--Minion and Breath would have skewered him in Round 2!) "Spend a few years working the rivers, docks, and slums of Arkham before you pass judgment on my methods, okay?"
The Deep One interjects: "Our source say house abandoned. What YOU doing here??"

Fated: "Deep One, you are chatty. Who is this source you speak of?" [OOC: Has Fated taken Deep One as a bonus language, or is he using Shade as an interpreter? Either way...] The deep one replies: "Make bargain? You let us go; we give up source. We take our dead. We take parts we come for. You no bother us in water, we no bother you on land. Deal deal?"

The Shade Of The Evermore interprets the Deep One's offer to the rest of the party (but not to the pilot).
**What parts? What did you come looking for? What were the green women doing here, anyway?**

What were the green women doing here, anyway?** The deep one snorts: "Unbelievable. You fight over room full of junk you no understand function. Now look. You come play thief; Deep Ones make thief too. Is OK just business? No!! You make baby-tantrum! Mother Hydra say: 'Early squid get prawn.'" It opens its mouth-flap wide and makes a gargling sound that could charitably be described as a laugh.

Fated notices the foam beginning to weaken. He looks toward the others and inclines his head slightly, as if to say of the Deep One "Off with its head?"

The Shade of the Evermore quietly approaches the foam-encased Deep One spewing forth the insulting retort.
**We are not stealing. We are protecting our territory. And you are on it. Mother Hydra would have done better to teach you some respect.**
Two tentacles slide out from gaps in The Shade's armour and slowly intertwine around the neck of the Deep One.
**I am The Shade Of The Evermore. _I_ am the early squid. You are the prawn.**
He deals a killing blow with his dagger.

Either way, he then heads back to the cellar of interrogation, either with the items or without, depending on Breath's answer. "Let us leave them for now, they are of little immediate use." Breath replies. Upon her return, she'll move over to one of the foamed Deep Ones ((if there are any others left alive?)) and hold her Glaive to its throat. Once she's filled in on the results of the interrogation, she asks: "Does anyone care to try to intercept the Women at the boat? I will not be able to make it fast enough in this armour."

Shade threatens the last remaining Deep One with his tentacles. [OOC: ?!?!?!?]
"Deep Ones strong! Deep Ones immortal! Deep Ones rulers of the ocean! Deep Ones...."
SNICK! Off goes its head.
After a few seconds respectful pause, the bone man speaks up: "Well that's a relief, I never much enjoyed doing business with deep ones. If you'll just let me go now, I can show you the way to my raft."

The Shade of the Evermore collects himself and then communicates, **We need to get rid of these bodies. Maybe something for the workers to do in the morning? They can drag them through the tunnel to the river and sink them**
The Shade makes like he is ready to head down the tunnel as soon as everyone else is.

Minion is ready to follow the boat pilot. He keeps his arc welder at the ready.
He wonders to himself what sorceries might exist that need Deep Ones as part of the ritual.

The bone man (who introduces himself as The Destroying Angel by the way) suggests taking the overland route to the beaver pond; maybe, just maybe, you will catch the green women unawares as they emerge from the other end of the tunnel.

That's it for the Deep Ones (you killed 6 in total: 2 warriors outside, and 4 clerics inside).
Vociferous Bastard informs you there is a hidden cell under a rug in the west wing sub-basement, with at least 1 dead body already down there...
