Ever since I first found out about these figures by Otherworld, I wanted them- BAD! Imagine mysurprise when I went into my local comic/games store and lo and behold they had several stacks of them!
Well I just bought my first pack. I'll be honest, these are not cheap miniatures. The caveat is that they are imports and a small business, so the higher price isn't really an issue for me. As Paul, on of the employees at the store has put it: "We always find a way to buy gaming stuff. Inflation isn't the issue!" True, far too true....
For those of you have not seen these minis in the flesh, er lead or whatever it is they make them out of, they are very nicely done. Sculpting varies in style due to the different artists, but all of it is first rate! I purchased HG1- Hobgoblin Warriors I. Three different poses- an archer, swordsman, and polearmed warrior. Detail is very crisp, with hardly any mold lines and little flash. Overall I'd give them pretty high marks for detail and simplicity, an aesthetic many minis fall short on.
