Mordenkainen's Magical Emporium will be the first time I've had my name on the cover of a Dungeons & Dragons book! I wrote my pieces of it last summer and thought it had been cancelled for much of the intervening time, but during the Adventurer Conqueror King Paul Hughes set me straight; it's back on the schedule for September 20. I didn't get to write the entry on the mule, but I did contribute lots of mundane and alchemical items that I'm proud of as well as some re-imagined classic magic items.

That's pretty cool, Tavis. You've done a lot for the hobby and deserve a bit of recognition. Have a celebratory exalt.

Thanks all! I joked with people at the OSRG booth that now my ability to pass for an old-schooler was blown and they would have to drive me away with stones. Truth is, of course, that the divisions folks set up are much less important than our unifying love for the game; and the intensity with which that love shines forth around here (as well as the lack of divisiveness) is why it's not surprising guys like me and Mike Mearls, who was the lead on Mordenkainen's, can be found in these parts.
