I have a question relating to the main thread. Should we bury the dead? Is a blessing enough? Funeral pyre? What is the custom for men fallen in battle, in a situation like this, as Lawful mercenaries like Soval might follow it anyway?
It is customary to bury or burn the fallen. Neither will be particularly easy in the West Hall, though you could have two Men carry Grim's body back to the camp outside...
I missed this being on vacation. Is it too late to send Einar and Hallam back with Grim's body as we continue, as part of the end of turn 4? As a Lawful type Soval would have wanted to do this. I am out of vacations for the summer so this problem shouldn't come up again - after I finish with the contest prizes I should even be able to finally winnow my equipment list!
I'd be very sorry to see this go as I'm really enjoying the experience! However, I appreciate the difficulty in maintaining the momentum when posting is increasingly fragmented, and if there's other stuff you want to do I completely understand.
Regardless of whether the game continues or not, many thanks to you and my fellow players for such an engrossing and enjoyable campaign. That battle with the Trolls will long linger in my memory!
(I'm having a blast in the 'Hinterlands' campaign too, by the way!
I've enjoyed the story quite a bit so far, but with 1/3 the participants as we originally had, it has lost some of the fun. Too bad, really.
But your decision to drop the campaign would be understood on this end. The lack of participation by people who asked to join is certainly frustrating to other players - it is even more so to the GM, I'm sure.
