In OD&D, I notice that the word "die" shows up rather large. I assume it's due to the use of "hit die" and not some horrible sublimital message. Heck, maybe they were all right about how evil D&D is!

It's interesting that the word 'spell' is noticeably absent from the 4E word cloud whereas it is quite prominent in the previous ones. What's more interesting is that a lot of 4E fans respond quite favorably to this. A lot of people are understandably burned out on magic after the overpowered spell-casters from third edition. It gets really annoying when anything your fighter or your rogue can do is overshadowed or made irrelevant by party's cleric or wizard. Part of 4E's draw is the emphasis on nonmagical martial-type characters over arcane and divine characters. Fighters are stronger than sword mages, and warlords are more fun to play than clerics. This may explain why the words 'attack', 'damage', and 'weapon' are so big compared to the words 'magic', 'ritual', or 'spell'.
