There’s been a lot of “buzz” about this elsewhere, but I haven’t seen anything posted here at the “official” message board for Carcosa, so I thought I’d put up an update.
LotFP to Release Geoffrey McKinney's Isle of the Unknown and Carcosa in 2011

A few quotes from Geoffrey on Dragonsfoot:

A few quotes from Geoffrey on Dragonsfoot:
Carcosa will be explicitly a setting book for James Raggi's Lamentations of the Flame Princess RPG. Carcosa will no longer be explicitly a supplement for the 1974 D&D rules. (But that's not a big deal. The old TSR D&D games and the retro-clones are all basically the same game.) This will require small tweaks to the Carcosa book, such as using ascending AC that starts at 12 for an unarmored man.
I don't know how much new stuff will be in the book, but there will certainly be some. The new stuff will be along the order of "more stuff" instead of "replacement stuff". Instead of invalidating things in Supplement V: CARCOSA, I want to offer more stuff that can be used alongside of what has already been published.

The presentation (but not the stats or descriptions) of the monsters is now in a format similar to B/X format rather than 1974 format. But have I actually changed anything? Let me think...
The armor classes were converted from OD&D armor classes to LotFP armor classes.
The sorcerer's saving throw table was altered to better conform to LotFP.
Um...
If there's anything else that I've changed, I can't remember it offhand.

In short, the re-publication of Carcosa will:
* be hardback (I think) rather than softcover
* have a full-color cover
* have plenty of interior art (instead of none as was the case)
* have a pretty map (instead of my plain one)
* have more hex encounters
* have encounter tables
* have an introductory module included
* have alphabetized monsters
It's the same old Carcosa, but more of it. It's not watered-down, screwed-up, "revised", or anything like that.
