www.youtube.com/watch?v=5II83LuAElg&feature=player_embedded#! WotC has the virtual table top in beta right now and some videos are showing up. Interesting it looks like they may go back to 1st edition with support. The video probably shows more than you care about but within the first minute the guy who posted the video shows that you can select edition. I wonder if they are leaning toward more support for the older editions of the game

This is another virtual tabletop I recently came across. It looks like it has some promise: www.scenegrinder.com/

I would assume that the live version of the VTT will be part of the DDI subscription, so it seems like a good opportunity for WotC to reach out to players of other editions while increasing their pool of potential customers.

I heard a rumor that they were going to start releasing earlier edition support through Dragon mag, which requires a DDI subscription. I find this a poor business decision on WotC's part, as I can't see the old schoolers signing up for subscriptions to a service that is still going to be 99% 4th edition just on the off chance that there might once in a while be a first ed. article.
A virtual tabletop for first edition is a cool idea, though. I'll give them that.
