I recently learned on the Huge Ruined Pile forum that The Grumpy Old Troll is starting up a blog-based Tekumel game for anyone who's interested. It seems like an interesting spin on the play-by-post gaming, hopefully it will take off!

Migellito is into a great creative way to get at this. I look forward to seeing how it shapes up.

Hey, sorry it took me so long to see this thread Response has been pretty slim, but I'll continue posting little episodes, probably not waiting as long for responses to accumulate before doing so. The power level of The Character is going to end up being fairly high, since it will basically always be them vs. the universe. Although there is only one physical character in the game, the number of possible characters for people to play (and to a certain degree the type of characters available as well) is infinite, since they are all distinct identities or souls confined in a single body. Not only did I set it up that way due to the blog format, but also because I thought it might more closely capture the classic pulp ideal of a lone hero facing off against a planet full of adventure. I would encourage anybody to go ahead and jump in at any time, bringing a new identity to the surface If two identities suggest courses of action which are mutually exclusive, I'll basically roll a contest of will between the two to see who wins. Otherwise, the rolls will just indicate which course of action gets attempted first. I'm doing most of the rolls in the form of: determine a chance of success for the character's desired outcome -> roll percents -> distance away from the target number shows how good a success or how bad a failure resulted.
