Well well...After 23 years break from roleplaying i decided with a mate to have a last hurrah and get back into it. So i am reliving my youth and have decided to return to gangbusters. I had the first edition and loved the game..had many sweet memories and if im honest strangely miss them. ( Gaming was so much better before the tinternet!!) So back with a vengeance i have managed to purchase all modules and the rules, some still shrink wrapped and am waiting like a kid in a candy store to start gaming again! Its nice to find you guys here especially Rick! I blame you for the extreme lack of sleep back in the day due to gaming.... Oh and im 41 and live in the UK.

Glad you found your way here. We need all the Gangbusters friend we can get.
Clearly you survived the lack of sleep, as did the rest of us who are still around.
Builds character, that does (or lots of characters, if you luck with dice was as bad as mine...)

Sleep is vastly overrated I still lose sleep after a great evening of gaming. But, I have learned the pure joy of naps. Welcome and glad your part of "The Family".

Welcome back to the rpg community. Sleep? Bah! We sleep long enough at the end, you know. Actually I found that role playing was great training for sailing. That, too, is a passtime wherein sleep appears to be optional. And I know how you feel. I've been experiencing something of a role playing rennaissance as well and Gangbusters is quite high on my list. Number two, actually, but my chances of ever finding anyone interested in playing Privateers and Gentlemen is about nil.....

I was actually lucky enough to have one group that was not only willing to give it a try but whose members had actually read Forrester and Kent. That was about 1984. The characters were officers aboard a 44 gun two decker in 1777 and participated in the naval campaign to take Phillidelphia. It was great fun for several sessions, then a young lady joined our group who did not want to play a male character and (we were all young men then) we fell over ourselves to accomodate her. That was that as I've never been lucky enough to find anyone even remotely interested since then. Even living aboard my 37' Valiant Esprit for a number of years!
