I'm very excited to announce the following: The Dungeon Alphabet An A-to-Z Reference for Classic Dungeon Design
Designing dungeons is as easy as A, B, C! The Dungeon Alphabet compiles twenty-six classic dungeon design elements in one place to assist the game master in creating subterranean challenges. A is for Altar, B is for Books, and C is for Caves: the Dungeon Alphabet has advice, hints, and randomized tables that bring new life to your adventures. Suitable for any rules system, the entries are accompanied by outstanding art from classic fantasy illustrators, with a foreword by noted game designer Zeb Cook.
Rules Set: Systems-neutral, designed to be used with any RPG
Writer: Michael Curtis Foreword: David “Zeb” Cook Cover Artist: Erol Otus Interior Artists: Brad McDevitt, Jeff Easley, Jim Holloway, Doug Kovacs, William McAusland, Jesse Mohn, Peter Mullen, Erol Otus, Stefan Poag, Jim Roslof, Chad Sergesketter, Chuck Whelon, Mike Wilson GMG4385, 48 pages, hardcover, $19.99
Further details can be found at The Society of Torch, Pole and Rope and on the Goodman Games website.

Thank you very much. I hope my writing stands up to the company it will be keeping.
Just for future reference, I don't have the details on a release date yet but I believe the plan is to have it available for Gen-Con. More details as they develop.

Good job, I'll be ordering mine once Points of Light 2 comes out (so I can combine shipping).
Hope they're paying you what it's worth -- the original is still one of my favorite D&D articles ever.

I just heard about this product over at the Necromancer Games forum this morning. I went over to the BLOG mentioned and see the content has been deleted (understandable)
Now please don't take this the wrong way, but frankly the cost for a book with such a low page count is *EXTREMELY* high (yes I'm aware of the costs involved with the Artists in question, Zeb, and hardcover) and I've never even read/heard of your blog until today. I love Roslof, Holloway, Mullen, and Otus as much as the next guy, but I'm not able to see where the bang for the buck is here- it sounds really "thin" on content.
So do you think it's possible to put back up a "sample" of one of your blogs so prospective buyers have an idea of what each letter's entry will look like/what they might be getting?

So do you think it's possible to put back up a "sample" of one of your blogs so prospective buyers have an idea of what each letter's entry will look like/what they might be getting? That's a reasonable request, but unfortunately, not one that I can grant for various reasons, the least of which being that, having seen how the book is coming together, reposting even sample sections of the Alphabet is not going to present a clear picture of what the end result of the book is going to be. Goodman Games may have some plan to offer a preview of the book, similiar to what they did with James Raggi's Creature Generator, but I don't know for sure certain what is planned for the next couple of months. I apologize for this unfortunate situation and beg of you to keep an eye on this thread or the Goodman Games' website in the weeks to come, which will be updated as details emerge.

Thanx for taking the time to address my questions!

I've received confirmation that all pre-orders of The Dungeon Alphabet have been shipped. Those of you who've pre-ordered will probably be seeing your copies by next week, provided they haven't arrived already. If you haven't pre-ordered and still hope to get a shot at winning a copy autographed by cover artist Erol Otus, you have until February 1st, 2010 to place your order. I'd like thank Joesph Goodman, David "Zeb" Cook, Erol Otus, Elizabeth Bauman, Peter Bradley, Jeff Easley, Jim Holloway, Doug Kovacs, William McAusland, Brad McDevitt, Jesse Mohn, Peter Mullen, Stefan Poag, Jim Roslof, Chad Sergesketter, Chuck Whelon, and Mike Wilson for making the book possible. Special thanks also go to all of you who've been fans of the Alphabet since it made its first humble appearance back in 2008.
