Are chaotic clerics and anti-clerics one and the same? Anti-clerics cast reversed spells. Are there chaotic clerics that can cast healing spells? Denying healing spells to the side of chaos seems a bit unfair, but allowing them to have both healing and harming spells seems lopsided as well. Refs, how do you handle this?

In my OD&D I enforce Chaotic clerics = reversed spells. It's a philosophical choice - Law builds up, and Chaos tears down.

I've gone back and forth on this several times over the years. I'm currently going with all chaotic clerics = anti-clerics because that's the simplest way, but I've done it the other way (chaotics get to choose whether to be standard clerics or anti-clerics) in the past.

I can't really add any more to this that both makofan & foster1941 haven't said already. IMC, a Chaotic cleric can either (a) go the evil route & worship an "evil" god, therefore being an "Anti-Cleric", or (b) worship a Lawful god, & just have a different approach to doing the lords work & tending the flock (thereby playing as a standard cleric).
