When geocities was about to close doors a few days ago, i had a stroke of doubt, what was going to happen with all the home brewed d&d material stored on those sites? So I went and recovered as much as I could before they shut down the servers (netbooks of all sorts, from the profound to the whimsical, and many other kinds in between). Something that strongly called my attention, and warranted it's inclusion in my "archive", was Aardy R. DeVarque's article on the different fonts used by D&D products through the years. You can check it out on the pdf i compiled PS: I intended this as a response to someone else's thread but i felt that it was important to make it a unique thread so it can be easily found later.

Awesome. I was concerned that due to the massive amount of sites that were gonna go off-line, and the fact that some of the sites could be regarded as "unimportant" (lack of hits or something else, i don't know which are the parameters they use to determine site importance) they were not going to be archived.
And sometimes archive does save the site, but not the whole site.

You're right about archive. It's far from perfect. In this case, however, everything seems intact. The only thing that's a shame is that it doesn't cover all the fonts from OD&D; however, someone on the other thread posted those.
