Below is a link to my current, in-progress Fantasy Supplement Simulacrum called primordial_odd. One major change I made to its Chainmail origins: In terms of attack and defense, I changed Light/Heavy/Armored to Cunning/Fierce/Masterful. Upon reflection, they really struck me as not so much about armor, but more about a gestalt of force and skill (particularly apparent when you look at how the FS applies them to monsters). I've made, well, simulacra of the three tables, in this case called Combat (the original Combat Table), Dueling (Man-to-Man) and Wondrous Combat (Fantasy Combat Table). There are a few departures from the FS in them, as well, but I think they adhere quite closely to its spirit. I'll be playtesting the rules I have (and filling in the rules I don't!) on Sunday... primordial_odd* I posted about this over on SANDBOX EMPIRE, too.

Neat stuff here. Still processing what I see, but overall it seems pretty slick!

Very cool. I think the cunning/fierece/masterful is a neat idea, would you consider leaving defense as light/heavy/armored? That way there would never be the need to clarify if you were talking about attacking or defending. Just a thought.

Thanks, cooper!
As for differentiating attack vs. defense, it's not a bad idea, I just don't care to think about armor except in the Dueling Table. I can't imagine there'd be too much confusion around it, but I'll keep it in mind as I start playtesting this Sunday.

It occurs to me it'd be useful to post here some of the disambiguation I posted on my blog...
