Willow of the Diviner: "No - allow me. I can protect myself with magic."
Unless Pipsy insists on opening the hatch, Willow of the Diviner will cast Protection from Chaos on himself and then open it.

Pipsy: "Padre, if you got some voodoo to use, use it and then stand BETWEEN us and the bad guys! I got the lock covered... do they even have keypads on your planet?"

Ultravox whips out a laser pistol and blasts one of the goblins [gonster indicated he was gone this weekend].
[Speaking of which, I'll be out for the rest of today, so go ahead and finalize your actions and we'll continue on Sunday morning. Have a great weekend everyone].

Regardless of what else is going on, Jones is definitely shooting the nearest ugly.

As Pipsy suggests, Willow of the Diviner casts Protection from Chaos on himself, and shelters Pipsy from the goblins' fire as Pipsy opens the lock.

Willow utters a prayer to Hestia and feels Hestia's grace cover him. Confident in his deity's protection, Willow moves to cover Pipsy as he pops the umbilical hatch.
Jones and Ultravox fire off blasts with their laser pistols at the nearest goblins [Jones d20 = 12 + 1 - 2 (cover) = 11, a close miss; Ultravox d20 = 3 + 1 - 2 = 2, miss].
Under the direction of a watchful hobgoblin, the goblin raiders fire off pistol shots at the group (1 each at Jones [d20 = 1, definite miss] and Ultravox [d20 = 3, miss], none at Pipsy, and two at Willow who is covering Pipsy) [d20 = 10, 8, reduce to 9 and 7 with Prot. Chaos, both miss].
[Initiative: goblins d6 = 4; party d6 = 6]. The party has initiative. The hatch is large enough that two people can move through it and enter the umbilical tunnel each round, if you choose to withdraw.

Pipsy cries out "Women & children LAST!" as he dives into the ship. "Get in as quick as you can, and shoot the Hobgoblins while you wait!"
*Once inside, Pipsy scrambles for the cockpit and preps for departure*

Pipsy cries out "Women & children LAST!" as he dives into the ship. "Get in as quick as you can, and shoot the Hobgoblins while you wait!" *Once inside, Pipsy scrambles for the cockpit and preps for departure* You'll still need to get into the ship itself, which has it's own airlock hatch. The umbilical just connects the docked ship to the station.

*Pipsy is chagrined to notice that he is not in the Pirate's Shame, merely the umbilical between the station and the ship. He picks himself up and dusts himself off*
"I was testing you guys. You passed! Now let's get out of here."
*Pipsy moves to open the ship's hatch and climb in*

Jones doesn't need to be told twice. He dashes through the umbilical with Pipsy and runs to the ship's entrance as quickly as possible.

I'll hold off until we hear from gonster and apeloverage. Also, just wanted to point out that not all of you can get through the hatch in a single round.

I turn around, pistol drawn, and wait until I get an "all-clear" from inside.

Pipsy jumps into the umbilical tunnel, followed by Jones' diving roll through the open hatch. Ultravox pops off a shot with his laser pistol [d20 = 11 +1 -2 (cover) = 10, miss] while Willow courageously covers the party's retreat, confident in the protection of Hestia.
The goblin raiders continue their fusillade of pistol fire [1 shot each at Jones [d20 = 18 - 4 (cover) = 14, miss] and Ultravox [d20 = 15 - 2 (cover) = 13, hit; d6 = 4 points of damage], 2 shots at Willow [d20 = 5, 12, -1 (protection) -2 (cover) = 2 and 9, both miss].
The hobgolin leader bellows for reinforcements.
Ultravox is down to 2 hit points, with a through-and-through bullet wound to the right shoulder.
[Initiative: goblins d6 = 4; party d6 = 5]. The party has initiative. There's time for Ultravox and Willow to jump through the hatch, and for someone else to close it after them, if you so desire.

As Pipsy races up the umbilical tunnel to punch in the Shame's airlock code, Ultravox hauls himself through the hatch (with a hand from Jones), quickly followed by Willow. Willow and Jones together pull the hatch shut, securing it from the inside. You hear several bullets pinging off the other side of the solid metal portal.
The airlock opens quickly, and before you know it everyone is cycled through and safely aboard The Pirate's Shame.
No sooner are you through the airlock, you hear an indignant voice booming through the ship, as if coming through the hull itself: "I say, Captain Smallbowls, are you aware that the station has been rammed and boarded? This is simply intolerable! The Guild will not be happy to hear you've brought me into such a dangerous situation. I hope you have a plan."

Jones eyes the interior of the ship appraisingly.
Jones: "Nice to meet you too. Where's your can? I really gotta squeeze one out."

Pipsy: "First off Computer, it's VICE GALAXIAN Smallbowls. Get it right - I didn't almost serve during the Scourging of Megathruxx, where I might have battled the Hordes of the Overwhelmer, just to be insulted by a talking calculator.
"Second, spark the engines and pull up the local sector charts. I need to know all our options in a ten parsec radius.
"Jones - the head is behind that door next to the comm station. Make sure you jiggle the handle, or the vacuum pump will cycle all the air out of the ship."

Shame's computer: "First off, Captain, I absolutely refuse to use that ridiculous title. Second, the starchart for the entire sector is up and waiting for you on the bridge. It's not quite a 10 parsecs radius, but I hope that will be sufficient. Third, I've already completed the pre-flight checklist. All lights are green...except for the secondary life support conduit. You might want to get that checked out when you have a chance. Otherwise, we're good to go." [Quick refresher on FTL jumps: each jump takes a week, no matter how far it is. You can jump up to 3 parsecs without requiring a science roll. Each parsec beyond that requires a science roll with an increasingly severe penalty, allowing for the possibility of a mis-jump. Being a size class 2 ship, The Pirate's Shame burns 2 Power for every parsec jumped. You start with full fuel tanks (50 power) and a couple months of food in the galley. You also know that yellow stars are most likely to have habitable planets, but that doesn't mean you won't find interesting stuff in other star systems. Just give me the hex number of the parsec you want to jump to.]

Pipsy: "What kind of data you got on Siren? And where is your personality options folder? Did you remove it from the settings menu?
"Someone bind up that wounded kid..."

Jones: "How about we just get out of here, and worry about where we're going later. That gobbo ship'll be after us any minute. Speaking of which, what kinda guns you got on this old tub?"
Jones retires to the head.
"I might be a while, but I'll leave the intercom on so we can hear each other."

What personality options?" "As for Siren, the travel advisory states that it's safe enough to go there, just so long as you don't get too close to the system's solitary planet. Ships that get too close don't come back...or so I've been told."

"Computer - make it so!"

The Pirate's Shame detaches from the docking umbilical and moves away from the station. On sensors you see that a few other ships have the same idea.
Your sensors also show that the station was rammed by a cruiser sized goblin raider ship, which is unusually large for them. Depending on its configuration, it could have been carrying upwards of a hundred goblins.
In the distance, about 100,000 KM off from the station, sensors also detect a couple of unlicensed frigates fighting a cruiser of the Swords Empire. It appears the cruiser is getting the better of the them.
After about an hour the Shame is far enough away from the station to be out of the general vicinity of the battle. If should be safe enough to discuss your next step.

Pipsy: "Well ladies, what do you think? Two yellows within jump range. That blue is also tempting. Siren sounds like trouble. I'd like to head north if possible - we have to make the nut on this ship in a month, and heading away from civilization might give us a couple extra weeks before the bounty hunters start swarming."

From his comfortable throne, Jones' voice comes through the intercom.
"I'm with you little cap, let's hit up one of those yellows."
