I read a Gord book once and was thinking of reading the entire set. (I own them, but just haven't gotten around to them. ) Howver, I'd like to read them in order. Does anyone know the order of Gary's Gord the Rogue books? * I know that he released two books through TSR, then later had to publish others through another company. I'm not sure the published order is the "best" order to read, however. * I know that there were 2-3 short stories in Dragon. Where do they fit in the series? * I think I read that CITY OF HAWKS was a "retelling" of the first novel. True or not? * One of the books (Night Errant?) is a collection of short stories. How do they fit? All together or inserted into a bigger chronology. Any info about this would be appreciated.

I guess that Dragonsfoot had a thread on this very question.

And I just realized that I asked the exact same question in another thread on DF in 2004. Guess I forgot I asked it.

For the record, here it is again:
1. Saga of Old City 2. “At Moonset Blackcat Comes” + Night Arrant 3. Artifact of Evil 4. Sea of Death
5. City of Hawks 6. Come Endless Darkness 7. Dance of Demons
I set off the last three because they get pretty crazy. I think the first four are totally enjoyable, though, and heartily recommend them to any lover of D&D. (I mean, don’t go into it with really high expectations—it is what it is.) The order I gave above may seem a little counter-intuitive, but trust me, I have read this series several times over and introduced it to many people, and this is definitely the way to go in terms of exposition, the flow of the narrative, and the build of the drama.
The “Moonset” short story can be found in Dragon #100. Regards.

About as crazy as the Elric novel, Stormbringer.
