Well, I just posted a message on the "Q&A with Gary Gygax" thread over at Dragonsfoot, inviting him to join us over here.
Who knows? He just might.
And I made it an open invitation to anyone else who is interested. That particular thread just turned up Peter Aaronson, who created the original Illusionist class in The Strategic Review, so we might get him, too. And James M. Ward posts there occasionally, also.

That's a good idea. I guess I never thought this forum would be interesting enough to Gary, but it's really taking off and perhaps he would be interested in seeing how his creation is still alive after all these years.
Good job!

Thanks!
As a wise friend of mine told me recently, "If you don't ask, the answer is no." That has stood me in good stead ever since.

Incidentally, Greg Ellis posted an inquiry about Chainmail over at DF General Discussion. Perhaps, one of you might jump in there with a suggestion for him to bring his question here and join us. I'd do it, but I'm a mod there.

I heard back from Gary. He respectfully declines, saying that he doesn't have much to do with D&D anymore (he spends most of his time with Lejendary Adventures).
I kinda figured that would be the case, but I had to try. Also, it makes me feel better knowing he knows that we're out here.

I would've thought as such too. If it's any consolation, I've told Gary I know more about OD&D than he does and he can ask me any questions. Not to seem too presumptuous, but he seems to think I could be a decent new torch-bearer for any OD&D Q&A. The old man just doesn't do D&D anymore, he's moved on to his latest masterpiece: Lejendary Adventures (also a great game).

I've seen you on other forums, themattjon, and I agree: You probably DO know more about OD&D than Gary!
