Where is Mount Rocky in the Duchy of Ten located? I found several references to it in the FFC.
I'm thinking it could be in the northernmost parts of the Gargoyle Hills, but that's just a theory...

I dunno.... but I'm thinking it must stand out, like Tolkeins Lonely Mountain. If its in the dragon hills it should be much bigger/noticeable than the rest of the topography.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Check out the Duchy of Ten on this map: blackmoor.mystara.us/img/BlackmoorSmall.jpgThe mountain range between the woods and the Barrier Swamp: A river cuts off the moutains, separating a single mountain from the rest. Could that be the one? Havard

It could be, it depends on how high a hill can be? I don't see them as mountains, compared to those in the north, but for locals, especially the way it rises from the swamp, it could have got that name. I don't remember the references to it in the FFC - are there particular mentions of its height, or just of its name?

There's one reference in the Legend Chart, simply identifying the location of Mt Rocky as in the Duchy of Ten. It is further described in the NPC section under the heading of the Ran of Ah' Foo, where it is described how he has set up dragon breeding grounds in this mountain... Havard

Havard So, it's either somewhere in the mountains to the north - unless they all come under the Duchy of the Peaks, or ... we change the colour of that "hill" to brown on the map , signifying a slight change of height!

The mountains to the north would be the Superstitions, and I believe they all fall outside the borders of the Duchy of Ten. We could make alterations to the map, although i guess a particularly high hillock could be referred to as "mount" if it is enough of a prominent landscape feature? -Havard

It could, but if the reference is to dragon breeding grounds in the mountain, a big hill doesn't have quite the glamour for such a location, does it?

I am really getting more interested in this place. I am beginning to see it as the lost stronghold of Lord Ran, or Ran the Fool as he is called in the Last Fantasy Campaign. -Havard
