It's late and I may just be missing it in the 3 LBBs, but is there a passage which explicitly states the "1 HD = 100 xp" rule and if so, what page is it on?
Or do we get the 100 xp per HD rule solely through the Troll vs. MU example on p. 18 of M&M?
Not that I don't trust you folks or anything, I'm just curious.

In M&M it is just the Troll example, yes. But Greyhawk, in introducing its system, refers back to the 100 XP / level system (p.12).

Along those lines... do the LBBs state anywhere that experience is split up among the party members? If a party of 7 defeated the troll would they earn 700 a piece or 100?

They don't, but again Greyhawk explicitly does.
