Sales have been very good on the new issue, but haven't heard as much conversation about it lately. Maybe the holidays? What were your favorite articles? What would you like to see more of?
Great art throughout, that's for sure!

Definitely the holidays for me--it's still the holidays, I have relatives in town until next week!
But also, to spread the shipping around, I also ordered Majestic Wilderlands and Stonehell Dungeon; Stonehell arrived before Christmas, and the rest arrived just after the New Year.
Agreement on the artwork, it's great.
More things with maps, that’s what I say.
One of the article types I used to enjoy "back in the day" were articles about things, like coinage, or ships, or medieval communication systems, even pole-arms, to name a few memorable ones. Nowadays a lot of that can come from Wikipedia, but it's still not written with adventure in mind.

My printed copy only arrived yesterday. I dislike reading PDFs so I'll give my proper feedback once I've had time to devour the real thing. I have had a quick flick through though.
I contributed to the art so I don't want to comment on my own work but all of the other pieces were of an excellent quality.

I wouldn't sell yourself too short, ant! I think you have a tremendously appealing visual style.

I wouldn't sell yourself too short, ant! I think you have a tremendously appealing visual style. Thanks for the compliment, cal. I love drawing for Fight On! and was thrilled to find some my contributions to Issue #7 were nestled amongst Mark's amazing pieces. If I ever become half as good as him I'll be stoked.

If I may, one of the things I've heard is that when the announcement for a new issue comes out, we should be pushing the content of that issue, not just listing the names of the contributors. That's fine to do, but let's show off why this should appeal to people who have never heard of Jeff Rients, Zachary Houghton, or Melan. Name some of the more interesting articles for that issue.
"We take a good, long look at Mystara this ish, but that's not all! Writer A takes a long look at using herbs in your campaigns, Writer B comes through with an incredible 16-page mini-sandbox setting that has to be seen to be believed, and Writer C shows off a new variable ciritical hits system! Plus, reams of new baddies, reviews, adventures, and more!".
Let people see just some of what's in that--that way, we can get people who may be on the fence about trying FO! to see just what's inside that cover.

I agree with that, and in fact the ad for issue 7 is much more content-focused than the ad for issue 6 was. We may go even further in this direction but (a) I do want to give at least some of the writers and artists recognition and (b) I don't want the ad to be too long.
Also anyone can see a 10 page preview of any issue free on lulu. But anyway I do agree with you Zach and we're trying to write our ads to highlight what's in the issues more.

Oh, definitely think balance is a good thing. And you're right, the ads can't be too long. If you guys are working on it, I have faith.

In ads I prefer a calmer style. Nothing incredible, nothing that has to be seen to be believed, just people like all the other DMs out there cleaning up their stuff and submitting it. At least it's this anybody can do it impression that has me coming back to it. Real adventures, by real DMs, from real campaigns, for real people.
As for issue #7: shipping and combining it with lots of other Lulu stuff delayed the arrival. The articles I liked best: Dullahan, Sea Demon, Tables for Fables, Zavax, Notes from Underground, Briz, Salicia, Finding Players, Mystical Mirror.
Too bad I found a typo in my own submission. *cry*
