I generated a sword that detects shifting rooms. Can anybody give examples of what these maight be, and how they differ from secret doors?

You walk into a room, 20' by 20'. Once the door shuts, the whole room shifts 20' to the west without you knowing it. Kind of like a sideways elevator.
Then, when you go back out through the door you came in through, you're in a whole different part of the dungeon. Drives mappers wild.

How about a round one with a dozen or more doors, that spins like a roulette wheel? With moving rooms, anything can happen!

I have a dungeon in the works with one of these as a centerpiece... but the clever bit is that it's also an elevator! A wide, circular shaft cuts through several levels, and the elevator is a round pillar of stone with four separate sector-shaped rooms at one level, each with an identical entrance on the outer wall. As the elevator descends – oh so slowly – it also rotates, 90 degrees per level descended. I'm counting on utter confusion in the mapping department. One of those swords could sure come in handy.

Does anyone else remember the movie Cube? It occurs to me that the writers might have been D&Ders... Rulewise, would you consider the ability of a dwarf for detecting shifting stonework to be automatic, like the sword ability?
