Rob Kuntz on Blackmoor?

Has Rob Kuntz said or written anything about Blackmoor outside what is found in the Journey to the City of the Gods story?

The fact that he was "King" of the C&C Society world, where Blackmoor was a realm should indicate that he must have had an impression about what was going on up there?

Yep. That's me, a send-up by good ole Dave, and a nod to me being the "King" of the C&C Society.

The C&C society map fit the pattern of what Greyhawk was to grow into, with similar names and locales (such as the Great Kingdom, for instance). It was not considered a setting, but a realm that was expanding for societal purposes and thereby had no strict gaming potential.

Gary, my brother Terry, Ernie Gygax and myself adventured first in Blackmoor (Castle and Outdoor) when Dave Arneson and David Megarry (of DUNGEON board-game fame) came to LG in the Winter of 1972. The reaction to that adventure and the consequent development of the D&D game as re-envisioned by EGG, is described in a lengthy introductory essay written by me for the upcoming release of Castle El Raja Key, with news on that here: lordofthegreendragons.blogspot.com/2009/12/castle-el-raja-key-small-partial-of.html

I am sure that Ken was referring to the City of Brass as promulgated from EGG's conception and the painting that Sutherland drew for the DMG as overseen by EGG. I was to later do it partial justice in print through K&C as Sir Robilar's City of Brass. In the actual tale as translated by Burton, the City of Brass is a forlorn and deserted city, all of its inhabitants long dead. It has no connection to the fiery semblance taken on in the works of TSR and the images summoned now by D&Ders. Its only nearby inhabitant was in fact an efreet who was cursed to relate the tale of the city not too far from its place of imprisonment.
